Hi.

This is my very first post here. I'd like to contribute with an example of the uplifting armin-chord-type sound. I did this with the reason project file that was posted here, but i changed the sound to a sample originally from Roland's Techno Collection Expansion card. It's the "solid bass" bass-sound that i sampled and put into reason's NNXT sampler and put some eq and fx on. That's it.

You can listen to it
here

Thanks. I thought why complicate it when the original sounds almost like the 'Solid Bass'-Sound...

Posted by Klangzentrum on Apr-15-2004 16:54:

its in cubase-format! you have to load it in the left-upper corner! "import cubase bank/preset"!

Sorry to being up an old thread, but can anyone point me in ther right direction as to synthesiser settings to recreate this ? Any tips to start me off would be good cheers..

Posted by Stephenox on Apr-27-2004 01:24:

Neil: Don't do massive detuning, but do some simple ones that give you the traditional chorusy effect. Then make sure your decay/sustain aren't too high, and you want a little bit of release. Other details... I'm not quite sure.

Anyhow, can anyone be so kind as to give me the name of the Armin track that this melody is from?

That's phat, yo! What did u use for drum track and baseline?

the kick drum is a sample I took from some matti laamanen's track (I think it was flakes). The rest of the percussion I took it from Reason's sound bank.

Now the bassline was made with the SubTracktor synth, with a lot of tweaking (delay, reverb, scream 4 distortion, compressor, filter, etc). After playing a while with all the instruments I ended up with it.

I've just brought back part of my old website files. The link for the midi and rns file should be working once more
