At least I'd like to think so

Posted by JLP on Feb-23-2004 23:31:

It's exactly the way I followed.

But, for lvl 4, I never had and I have no friends who love trance.

I'm lvl 6b and 7.

It's always the grumpy assholes that will post shit like that about 5 minutes after a thread is made

Its the nice, helpful people that will post around 'mid' and 'last'

btw,

I agree.

However... dont know what stage i'm at.....

Posted by Shudder on Feb-24-2004 00:44:

i think im 6b-7. never really made comments about techno or trance going downstream. if i did, its more associated with my taste in music changing not the music itself changing.

Posted by Zharen on Feb-24-2004 01:15:

I believe I'm in Stage 3 right now. Taking advice of the veterans, dling good tracks and paying more attention to the beats.

Posted by Stassi on Feb-24-2004 01:21:

ive been stuck at 6a and 6b for a looong time.

Posted by spinstar on Feb-24-2004 03:07:

hmm...good post....as a newb who has been rising up the ranks i can see these stages.

Im at level 4 except i dont think all my friends are following my lead. I hope i can bypass stage 5 because it looks really sad with people flaming others for liking so called 'cheese' trance/techno.

Posted by whiskers on Feb-24-2004 03:40:

woohoo, let's classify each other by stages now instead of genres!

good going.

anyone who says they're in stage 7 is a hypocrite.

flame on

/back to winamp whoring.

6b here. Definitely not 7. God, I hope I don't get there. I like my discriminating taste in music.

I really like traditional Chinese music. No, I'm not kidding. But your downloads sort of suck as far as that genre goes.

Sorry, maybe I was a little harsh. I just hate when they use synthesizers instead of traditional instruments, and when they incorporate any western vocals.

I just got a CD with the vocals of a Tibetan folk singer named Kelsang Chukie Tethong which is nice. It's by Narada, so there's some westernization, but not too much. Check out some samples on Amazon here.
