Hardcore atheist/secular humanist.

And Smokeape, where on earth did you get the idea that atheists believe in nothing. Just because someone disbelieves in the existence of a deity doesn't mean that they 'believe in nothing' ffs.

Well we could get all philosophical here and say that nothing is, in fact, something.

One must first know what the definition of is, is.

I like the sound of that, if somebody asks me, I'll say "I believe in something, I just don't know what it is".

But anyway I'm making my own religion, God is a hot DJing chick, instead of church you must listen to Trance every Sunday, or everyday if you want to take the religion seriously like me, to practice this religion you must goto as many good events as possible and only listen to the best of trance, and when you die, you go to a wonderful world full of the Best clubs and best DJs, with the best sound system and amazing sunsets every night, in this world you will never hear any trainwrecks or be sold crap drugs, water is the best beer and trees are maurijuana, everything is free and everyone is beautiful, but if you are bad, you goto hell and spend eternity listening to DJ Sammy live, yes he is the devil, and he will fill your hearts with hate for music by playing his very best, you have been told now join the religion and live life to the max.

Come on, you really aren't doing a bad job of being a religious fundamentalist. Seriously, become a Jehovah's Witness or something like that, you'd fit right in!

I tried to like different religions but i can't stand most of them. I believe in what i think is right, and not some1 telling me Iam wrong and evil for doing this or that. I do believe their is something.
I sometimes think alot of those ppl from way back in the day just had psychological problems and since they didn't have any knowledge of what we have today about disorders, they just thought what they thought, and just started preaching craziness

Posted by DigiNut on Mar-04-2004 06:13:

Jewish turned agnostic turned atheist, now taking an interest in the Tao, but as Maaz pointed out, that's more of a philosophy than a religion.

Somehow I find that Ironic.

Born Catholic and still am a catholic by choice which may be a surprise to some . I have a strong hatred for organized religion, but I adhere to the most basic of catholic beliefs, though little else.

Weren't you a deist Occ?

Posted by A.J. on Mar-04-2004 06:33:

Agnostic......

Its not that i don't believe in anything, but i think that the notion of 'existence' is beyond the human capacity for thought.

In other words, i don't know how the world began, and i don't feel the need to believe that a god created the universe until it is proven so. I am happy to just live life as it is.

Kind of. Scientifically I'm an aethesit. Spirtually, I'm a deist/catholic. I do believe that we know virtually nothing of God, but I do believe in some basic principles that he exists, is good, just, etc. The bible attempts to capture his interaction with the world but I firmly believe the bible is 90% crap. However, I don't discount the fact that God may have some kind of interaction with the world. Ultimately my faith is logically unjustifiable. However, that's why it is called faith ...

As for Christianism, I was born Catholic so this religion still plays a very important role in my life, even though I don't believe in God.

Buddhism: which vehicles you explore? I like Tibetan the most. An the upper class of Buddhism, pegged as the Diamond tradition, the quickest buddhist path to Enlightenment. a school with prevailing Hindu influence at more advanced teachings.

I align myself with my given inborn powers with interests in:

gnosticism
dynamic cogntive relativism
experimental or proto theories
Ascension
Humanism
