You're partly right about him taking credit for compositions that aren't completely his own. On a few tracks he's worked with either Andy Gray or Steve Osbourne, and put his own name on the final product. He has done his own productions though.

I recall an interview with BT a few years back where BT was flaming Oakey for taking credit for Andy Gray and Steve Osbourne's tracks, maybe that's what you're thinking of. Anyways, the point is he has worked with others before and taken the credit, but he's also done some productions completely on his own.

ah ok cool, yea i was unaware that he did some stuff on his own. i dont think they are taking full credit for the track, because i am sure if you look at the credits, it has the other peoples names on it. however the average listener doesnt know who these other people are, so i guess instead of on the cover putting, oakenfold, gray and osborne, they just put oakenfold, because everyone knows that name, and regardless if it is good, they will buy it because of the name.
