i was looking through some name book way back when, came upon nadezhda (which i believe is russian for hope) and totally loved it. PLUS i decided that i cannot have the same name on any msg board that i actually go on relatively often 
also, it's fun having something that very few know how to pronounce hehe.

At Endfest 10 a few years back i got a keychain that was black with the writing "Get foul" on it and i've kept it since.
Bloated cow, for those of you who have ever enjoyed the game Diablo 2, when you enter tristram to rescue Cain, you will notice a dead cow. I was in nightmare and I had just killed rakinishu and I had low health. Upon noticing this dead bovine, I realized that I WANTED TO CLICK ON IT, bad idea, because it exploded and killed me. This was the most comical experience for me and I have kept the name bloated cow ever since then.

my name is Neil. When i signed up for IM a few years ago Neil was taken so I typed in BadNeil and it was taken too. SO i decided i'd use as many bads as possible to sign up. Luckily it was only two and it has stuck.

Also, it reminds me of the time I was in Italy and I had to jump across the beach like a madman to get to the water, otherwise my feet would be scorched from the blazing hot sand.

It's my surname and most people don't know my first name anyway, so it feels more natural to be called "Lira".
Not to mention chances of mispelling are significantly lower now than when I was using my old nick, "Maaz"
