thats because we have plenty of good restaurants open 24/7 or open really late like 4-5am.

try finding that in Toronto we don't want hotdogs, you can keep'em.

p.s.: selling food on the streets is not permitted. has to due with health and littering issues.

oh hell'z yeah, george is my number spot for hot dogs, infact had one yesterday.

i prefer the street meet at college park.....they steam the buns and the topping choices are prime.....even the banned ones. as for a good one in club district, theres one on front and somewhere west of university.....prime doggs. even chopped lettuce for topping, its all about late night street meat.

as for your bun problem rj, theres the hog dog vendor outlet just east of jarvis on adelaide where you can buy the vendor style buns and doggers .

Posted by StereoPrincess on Nov-12-2004 10:57:

yes, that souvlaki is the best thing by system and it's 5 dollars even. the shawarma is good too but a little bit further and you smell even more after eating it.

Isn't that on Richmond St., just east of Church St., actually? I've been in there a few times. Unless there is another store

RJ: Sara's is indeed the best Chicken Shawarma I've had in Toronto... Also very close by to home. Best in Canada I'd have to say is Shawarma Station at Hunt Club and Bank in Ottawa, down the street from where I used to live.

Mmm. I could so go for one right now.

THE HOT DOG has become one more fallen American hero.

Long a starring player at beloved national pastimes such as the backyard barbecue and the ball game, long a dinnertime staple for households in a hurry, the hot dog began to acquire a criminal record back in the '70s.

Then the sodium nitrite added to hot dogs and other processed meats was cited as the evil ingredient. When the compound combines with substances called amines, found naturally in some foods and in the stomach, it was discovered that powerful carcinogens called nitrosamines are formed.

In the '80s, when low-fat eating came into vogue, the hero's criminal record got a bit longer. Nutritionists alerted the public to the high-fat content of the hot dog. One slim dog might pack more than 16 grams of fat, they warned.

Earlier this year, three studies published in a cancer journal suggested a link between hot dogs and two forms of childhood cancer - leukemia and brain tumors.
