Excellent track, one of the best ive heard from here in a while.

The percs are all excellent. The kick is just right, not too loud or sharp. The rest of the percs are nice and fast, and work well with the bass to really keep the whole track moving along really well.

The molody is really good too. Its quite subtle, which i like. Even in the break it never goes OTT. The break isnt a HUGE affair either, which i like. Im fed up of 5 mins breaks, with full breakbeat action! ;p

All the parts are at the perfect levels too. People often have their bass drum of lead melody far too loud IMO, but your is spot on...

Again, excellent work.

This is a gorgeous track. Beautiful feel. Thanks man! Awesome melody and beautiful mastering... Look at that build-up again... Might want to change the filter parameters a bit.. It sounds a bit too drastic. Geez what a nice tune.!!!

Posted by Icone on Mar-24-2004 07:44:

Thanks guys! I will try to get it remastered one of these days.

Cheers,
Wim

*Nice pads.
*Change in chords is brilliant!
*Break: Upcoming piano not to good IMO, but the rest is awesome!
*/me loves the seaside
*Good melody coming in here
*Continueing... everything seems to fit.
*Chord and melody change is brilliant once more at 6:22!
*The synth and the snareroll sound a bit too raw, i mean, it's very clear and all, but i would've put slightly more reverb on the synth, or back it off a bit. I would've tried too create even more room.

It's a very good track!!

what can i say more then this such a very very great tune from icone i am more addicted to icone & lightworks tunes got some tunes from u and i love all there tunes so awesome
Gabriel & Dresden <----- the are good mixer but nothing then yours ...... so what a massive thanks for this taste of one of the greatest artist i've ever heard

Hey, I really like this song! I thought the sound effect at the beginning of the song which occurs again a few times through the song is really cool, too. What is it?

Posted by Sunquest on Mar-25-2004 16:38:

amazing stuff!!
im playing it already for 3 days now
the record labels dont know what theyre missing

trance these days is garbage
we need more stuff like this
amazing really

Posted by Fractal on Mar-25-2004 17:02:

The track is really good. No doubt about this... But it's however not easy at all to get signed these days. Because labels always want the best stuff only. And there are a lot of concurrency. A&R's take their responsability to label when they accept or refuse any track.

But don't be discouraged Wim. I know you're capable to produce a hit,so keep it up and work on your new stuff

Take care,
//Max

Wim,

- Maybe you should pick some more labels to send it to. And send it out again (maybe after remastering)??

- I love the melody. It's in my head all the time you know . If it's ok with you, I'd like to do a remix. I'll PM you about it.

Cheers!

Dr. Mr. Lightworks,

I think there is a misprint in the title for this thread, I believe you meant to write, "Something Special" because damn this song is exceptional.

I do love a freakin killer bassline, something that I could feel stabbing through my chest on the dancefloor. This song qualifies for sure! It is real real sick. The melody itself is also amazing. Definitely a peaktime, kickass, hold-on-for-dear-life kind of song.
Amazing work, Mr. Lightworks. Just unbeleivable.
I love it muy mucho!

Take care,
Mr. Hollen

Thumbs up

Good stuff man. I may not be no trance expert, but I know what I like in a trance tune and all the elements for a good tune is in this track. I say don't get discouraged if no labels sign a track. Just keep producing and try again. I really like this one. And I wouldn't be surprised if this got on TA's Unite Ch 4.

Good to see that some things never change. High quality trance from you as usual. Too bad for labels if they don't wanna sign this, beacause I surely can't fault anything here. Keep it up

Peace

I don't agree. The quality is getting better and better.

I'm afraid I have to disagree... Look at the market for trance right now, and compare it with the nineties. There's heaps and heaps of stuff out there that's way less than some things I hear over here and those things don't get a release - which should. I practically don't really know what they want anymore these days.

Thanks for the kind words peepz, I truly appreciate it!

Cheers,
Wim
