ebay makes it all the more harder when u have no address in the us, i live in peru folks.
but 123dj has an ill package out right now,
[2] Numark tt-500s
[1] Behringher PRO MIXER DJX700
[2] DJ Craze Carts
for 700 bones
that is the winner.
ebay is so hard to use for me, but i will give it a shot. even knwo all the techs are heavily bid on and are still damn expensive
Yea, thats what I like about Technics too. I know if I get in a bind or just want to sell them to get new ones, they retain their value so well. I am looking at buying some m5g's soon. Those are tight. I am waiting to find the price I want though.
It's always worth getting quality decks, you will never regret it.
Cheers
Nem
PS
You are wrong about Fruity Loops
acutally, i enjoyed using fruityloops to start out but there is a problem it doesnt sound like music. it sounds fake. it lascks something, and i can gain that with reason.
ive heard amaxzing things about the tt500s they are the the TTX without the dig features, which is fine with me
well, you never know. look around, ask around. a pair of good used techs might be right next door.
this guy offered me techs, working condition, a pair for $160. he said that the defects were quite a few scratches on the faceplates, and busted popup lights. the start/stop button was also a bit rusty on one of em. but they worked perfectly (the pitch had been battered a bit though). of course, no needles came with them, but damn, you expect a working deck AND needle for $80US?! and yes, this was a trustworthy person, he opened the first vinyl shop in the country a few months ago, he wouldnt screw over a potential customer as myself, not to mention it could be very bad for him to earn reputation of selling shit equipment.
im a broke ass mofo, so i couldnt buy them. a friend of mine did buy one of them, for 80 bucks. took it to a friend of ours, who di a thing or two with it (basically, made it presentable, new audio cables (my friend needed longer ones for some reason), and straightened out the pitch issue, new popup light, etc). basically, he spent about 25 bucks on it. used the deck last week, spins like a dream.
well he did slap ortofon pro djs on em, but thats another story.

2 bad i dont have a monthly income... hehehe..
there's been a lot of good advice given here... here's mine
try as hard as you can to get techs. It really makes no difference which ones (mk2's m3d's mk5 etc.) as the differences are so small that its barely worth mentioning. Used mk2's are probably cheapest, and look for a reliable ebay seller in your relative area (remember... if you decide to buy from the US, or Canada or even say Mexico, shipping charges and customs charges will be massive... theyll probably be doing it through air... xpensive, plus theyll be these stupid customs fees youll have to pay... ughhhh
). You could probably get a pair for about $500 of decent-to-good condition mk2's for around $500 or even cheaper if you work at it. Make sure seller is reliable... ask tons of questions. Trust me, from experience i've been nearly totally jacked twice and was ripped off when buying my 1st m3d (it ain't got no feet! wtf!). You should then be able to get a used mixer and carts for around $200. I've heard of peeps getting $400 tech 12s from working at the deals on ebay.... so keep with the effort. Then you could probably afford a decent mixer and quality stanton carts like 520s and possibly a used vestax 275 mixer or a new behringer mixer easily (some people don't like behringer's... but some people here use them and like them... me personally its a Rane but thats a different story). You'll probably want a mixer around $150 and then youll need carts and headphones that could cost about $100.... so if youre real good... you could end up with:
2 tech 12 mk2's $450
A decent budget mixer new/used $150
stanton 500/520s and middle-lower end sennheiser headphones$100
this is all optimistic... but you can do it... ive saved probably $500 from ebay (other then that damn feet-less m3d) by using ebay.
If not... you could just start with a setup youve been looking at... its not bad at all. It's just if you buy techs youre not going to need to upgrade when you start making some di nero (pero necesitas los discos tambien hombre! Youll need some vinyl... but thats a different issue.
