HOLY SHIT what an epic night!!! Truly one of THE best club nights Edmonton has seen!!! Great set by Julesy, as usual and the crowd was just off.

Some of what he played:
Plummet - Cherish the Day
Cosmicman - Crystal Dreams
Brainbug - Nightmare (Judge Jules Remix)
Airscape - Sosei (Johan Gielen Remix)
Ocean Lab - Satellite
DJ Tiesto - Traffic
DJ Scot Project - Feelin Me
Gladiator - Now We Are Free
And my fav tune that he told me he'd play for me when I asked him if he brought it...
FATKID - SOUTHERN SUN (this just took me out of the building)
Encore: Plummet - Damaged Vs. Mauro Picotto - Lizard (fuckin awesome bootleg)

I'm sure there was mre, but I can't remember what they were... have not slept yet so please for give me hehehe.

Great seeing all the TAs out and about too! We represented HARD! See you guys soon!

Cheers,
Terry

For anyone that reads this, I actually have 3 announcements to make, but I don't want to make them until the promoters give me the go-ahead or they do it themselves... what little suspense is left, I'd like to try and keep for them

Yeah, that's why I didn't post it on here either. I figure that they'd do a better job of it.

I guess it's not a big secret anymore considering Dave Stone (I think it was him on the mic) yelled it out to the crowd at the end of the night.

Anyways, another unreal night.... I can't wait for more...

P.s. Another track was some bootleg of Underworld Cowboy

Dave and Neal played Sasha Vs. Underworld - Xpander Cowboy, not Julesy so I didn't include it in the playlist.

Great night....well worth the "journey" as Judge put it.

Some other tracks he played:

Candy Jay - If I Were You (Michael Woods Remix)
Fragrance - Don't Break My Heart
DT8 - Sun Is Shining Down On Me
David Glynn - Only You

Great opening set from United too...I loved hearing "For An Angel" in a club again.

"Face Down, Ass Up, That's The Way I Like To Fcuk"

I didn't get a chance to meet you that night, who were you?

I was behind you guys for a while...I think...don't know who any of you are. I was wearing a navy t-shirt with a gold griffin.

Posted by physe on Apr-04-2004 02:38:

I was the guy with a plain black shirt that couldn't dance but didn't care.

Probably out of the four of us who were up front most of the time, DJ.MD was the guy in the red basketball jersey if I remember correctly. The four of us were front and center the whole time so I'm sure you saw us there. I'm sure I'll see you at another event. I'm sure I'll be in Calgary again so we'll probably meet up there at a TA meet or something.

Posted by BryZe on Apr-04-2004 10:03:

If you were behind the 4 man TA wall of physe, DJ MD, CraveTheRave and myself (BryZe), then you were in the right spot

As soon as someone got in front of us we just moved them back again and again and again.

Posted by DJ.MD on Apr-04-2004 17:39:

I was the guy in the Lebron James Jersey

And the wall was solid and impenetrable.

Posted by ChadVanDyk on Apr-04-2004 18:35:

My hunch was right...I knew it was you guys...who else but TA's would mash it up in the front like that. I'll drop some salutations next time...it won't be hard to find you guys if DJ.MD is there...he's a great "TA Beacon".

Posted by BryZe on Apr-04-2004 19:05:

Yes that red jersey with the slicked up cap....WERD
I mean hes not just a beacon hes a FOG HORN, best damn trancer I have met yet...

Who else has 1100 songs...erm NOT DOWNLOADED...ON FRICKIN VINYL!!!

Posted by DJ.MD on Apr-04-2004 22:48:

Yes being 6 foot 6 makes it pretty easy for me to find.

and my record collection is quite big but at least 1/2 of them are in storage.

Question Unknown track

Judge Jules rocked the house at Escape, it was awesome. I'm wondering if any of you guys could help me find out what one of his tracks was. A deep voice kept saying something like, "I just can't believe the things that some people say.... and I have to deal with this sh*t every f***ing day" It went something like that. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Posted by BryZe on Apr-05-2004 05:40:

Damn some of those pictures are nice...I even got the terminator eye.

Anyone notice how Judge Jules looks like a cardboard cut out in 2 of those pictures???

It is Harry Choo Choo Romero - Beats Vol.2 or I Want Out(Can't Believe). It was released twice under different names. Judge didn't play the entire track though, just sampled the acapella.

I remember vividly when Bad Boy Bill dropped it in Calgary in 2001 at the Cowboy's tent...just lovely.

Posted by Fil on Apr-05-2004 07:45:

That's awesome. Thanks a lot. I knew someone here would know what track I was referring to.

Posted by DJ.MD on Apr-05-2004 14:43:

Chad you are correct but I believe the name of the song is
The Cricket Track but I believe it's on the Beats Vol 2 EP

here are some more pics from Jules website
http://www.judgejules.net/index.php...&iGallery=1441#

and this is what he had to say about Edmonton..

In late January I missed a gig in Edmonton Canada as a result of snow in the UK, and Thursday April 1st was the re-scheduled visit. For a major city Edmonton’s poorly served with direct flights from US gateways, and my only option was an 8am flight to Seattle. This left me with only 2 hours sleep after my set. Post 9/11, US airport security remains stringent, and for some reason I’m always flagged up for special security screening, meaning that it’s sensible to arrive at least two hours before your flight.

It was three hours to Seattle where I had a three and a half hour layover, followed by a two hour flight to Edmonton, so having left at 8am, I didn’t arrive in Canada til 5pm. On my Horizon airlines flight I glanced at its “Edmonton city guide? in the inflight mag and learnt that the Canadian city is home to the World’s largest shopping mall. Checking my notes on arrival I discovered that lo-and-behold, my gig was in a club attached to the mall. Talk about a shopaholic’s dream engagement.

We’re not talking any old Mall. Housing an indoor aquarium with dolphins and a submarine ride, an I-Max cinema, a gigantic water park, not to mention almost 1000 stores, Edmonton West Mall also housed its own 20 storey hotel “Fantasyland?. As a frequent traveller, the features I look for in a hotel are as follows… 24 hour room service (useful when coming in after playing a late set), Broadband internet access, a gym, and preferably a shower that’s separate from the bath.

Fantasyland had no broadband access, no mini-bar, no 24 hour room service, but did have a gigantic Jacuzzi in the middle of the bedroom with mirrors on the ceiling. If I was a porn star not a dj I would have been in my element. As it was, all I wanted was a drink of something non-alcoholic to rehydrate after my set, plus broadband access to answer the huge stack of your emails I receive daily. Having said that, it was a five minute stumble from the club so the promoter’s choice of hotel was well-appreciated.

I’ve never done a bad gig in Canada, and from the moment we arrived via the mall and hit the club through a back entrance it was clear that things weren’t about to change. I was a little tentative that my failure to show on the previous occasion might have taken its toll on ticket sales, but there was no need to worry. The atmosphere was excellent, and I was safely ensconced back in bed at Fantasyland ten minutes after spinning my final track

Geez... I'm on the front page of Judge Jules' website... not a spectacular pic of me as I'm screaming my head off, but I think that's when he played Southern Sun hehehe!
