I highly recommend staying away from that toothpaste. Maybe it's just some people, but I now know 2 people (1 being me) who have had to discontinue use of that toothpaste because after a few days, it made our teeth 'ultra' sensitive and I don't even have sensitive teeth to begin with. I think the acid from the citrus wears away at your enamel or something.

It might not be the same for you, but that's been my experience with Herbal White.

So...I've tried it, and am now addicted !!!
Ninjapimp...Whitening is known, to my knowledge, to increase teeth sensitivity. Even the withening treatments used by dentists, they warn you about the teeth sensitivity side effects.

I didn't know that! that's exactly what's been happening to me lately and I thought my mouth had become cavity central even though I've never had a cavity in my life... it's worse after a night out of partying for some reason - maybe that has to do with jaw clenching???

Posted by disko-kandi on Mar-25-2004 15:28:

yea that stuff is real bad for you!! ... that's why it's best to only get ur teeth whitened and polished by the dentist like twice a year -once every six months !!! that whitening stuff in the toothpast eats the whole top layer away ... and you need that!! no kidding ..hehehe

that's why: USE AQUAFRESH EXTREME CLEAN!!!!

Yep that's totally the best toothpaste I've ever used. When you're hungover, it tastes like gum - it's so good

if you like the gum taste, try the citrus flavor

Posted by disko-kandi on Mar-25-2004 17:30:

the citrus eats away at ur teeth! good luck!!

...and goodvibe ~ what's wrong with micro-foam bubblies?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is also in shampoo, its a detergent. Titanium Dioxide is also the active ingredient in sunblock. Personally I would prefer not to swallow minute amounts of metal But hey thats just me =] At least your mouth won't get sunburnt

p.s I eat junkfood.. so don't listen to anything I say about holier then thou "I watch what I eat and healthy body living and crap" =]

Posted by angelgirl on Mar-25-2004 17:45:

I am not too picky about the brand of toothpaste. It just has to be a paste...none of that gel crap

However, spokesperson of the year for toothpaste has to be...

BAM!

I am sure, Tara...you would agree, non?

you don't swallow toothpaste.

the only people that swallow toothpaste are children and they learn fast not to do it.

Posted by Mako on Mar-30-2004 04:17:

Mmmmmmm cough syrup flavour.... *drools*

Hmmm I wonder if swallowing toothpaste would cure heartburn...

actually you do in minute amounts...

Posted by StereoPrincess on Mar-30-2004 19:02:

you would probably get more titanium and any other metal just from the water you use to rinse out your mouth.

i just think that you aren't looking at the whole picture Beh.

you probably get more bad stuff in a potato than in the toothpaste.

thats a sound argument, however you can get toothpaste without those ingredients, you can choose to use a different product, that will clean your teeth just as well. But a potato is a potato and can't be replaced with something else that could have less heavy metals.

Sure you can choose to eat something else, or not wash your food, but then not washing your food makes you susceptible to ingesting lots of pesticides. So washing yuor food is the lesser of evils when you don't have a choice. A person does have a choice however in what sort of toothpaste they use since there are competeing products in the market place.
