Sahara is so AWESOME! Best release of the month... 10/10

.. /reZ ..

Ever since some TA mentioned the "dying cat sounds" in Sahara, I just can't stop laughing when I'm listening to that song. I can picture a cat singing the tune (at least the beginning part at the most).

Sahara > Kalahari

Sahara > Kalahari

haha same here

I regret not ever getting North Pole tho, anyone know if Chemical Records will ever get more stock?

I like Kalahari a little bit more than Sahara. Really worth buying.

This track definetely needed some cleaning up before releaseing it. Some great direction and sounds... but needed some serious work on the loud 'dying cat sound'as well as the overall mix. That sound could use a bit less of a twanging sound [slow attack] wich also makes it sound a bit out of sync whne you listen to it carefully in hifi. Doesn't sound professional enough when you listen to it closely. Really weak on the high hats and just really not mixxed and processed to nearly its potential. The kick is also too out-of-the-box sounding. I was looking forward to this release and was going to include it in a radio set I had to record recently, but on close inspection once I got a copy was disappointed.

True.. that also happens to me with Haak - Frenzy, The first Original Mix.. everything fine but when i mix it it Distorts, maybe its my mp3.. i think the 2003 mix its better, not sure.. but is still one of most Favorite Tunes.. too bad isnt Pressed on Vinyl.. i hope someday.

hehe, probably the first version in 128 kbps then, the kick was way too loud in that one. it has gotten mastered for release now, shouldn't distort

btw, 2003 mix? hehe, it was first made in 2003

Love is in the air

I've loved this tune ever since I first heard it on ASOT 135. I was so happy when I got my mp3 rip of it. And after hearing Armin and Gabriel and Dresden spin it at the 1015 in SF, I loved it even more. Great production. 9.2/10

Kalahari at first I hated. The tech sounds were a little over the top for me. But after several listens I got used to it and now I like this tune as well. 7.5/10

Solid Globe is fast becoming one of my favorite producers. Hope they keep the hits coming.

At first I hated this track, found the cat crying thing too annoining, but after listening to it some times I "got used" to the sound and the song became very good. I love it now

Posted by psychosia2001 on Jun-11-2004 16:37:

i know this will get me dissed but since my friend mentioned it it sounds like a load off meowing cats

North Pole was much better than Sahara. It's an ok track IMO but nothing too special.

What the hell? Are you telling me every single one of these (which all sound completely different) are ripped off from the same melody.

did you ever think of fixing the name of this thread?

the buzz is finally gone but this record still shines as a brilliant breeze in the current scene.
