-- What do you say to them?

First, I tell them that I suck.
Second, I put on some records and I abuse the hell out of my equipment and tell them..."damn, all this b!tchin' is makin' me skratch!"
Third, I'd change genres and power mix some breaks.
They end up like this...
Does that answer your question?

Inertia, actually i've never tried teaching them. probably coz of the average track time; they're not even patient enuff to let a track play.
Educate them, if they are your friends they should listen. If not torch their house and piss in the ashes...
For the even less politically correct approach:
Give them a bag of smarties and watch them gurn their asses off in a life changing experience.
Let's face it... while I don't know what goes on in the US, go out in Europe and people are basically tripping their tits off.
And yes... I also dislike bling bling! What's really annoying about that fanbase is that a lot of the older people in that scene are all the dickheads who slated hip hop and said it would never become anything.
Inertia,
When it comes to letting people have a go on my decks... most of my mates are DJs anyway so we don't really feel the need to unless it's to play some new tunes. The only thing I find annoying is when they don't respect volume levels. Can't stand loud music when I'm not in a club.
Cheers

^^ im starting to get better quality friends. im still surrounded by retards at school though, so a few have come in contact with the decks. the only time i REALLY got pissed off is when i taught one of my friends, and he was getting it close after a few tries.
then he says "damn. this is way cool. i want some CDJs so i can mix some 50 cent up in this bitch!".
that one pissed me off.
I'm talking about how I would answer the questions.
What I meant was...I'd take out some battle breakz and do my weak-ass routine that comprises of chirps, skribbles, flares...so on...
Then, I'd take out either trance/breakbeats and power mix...
Just my opinion, but DJs should learn all aspects of mixologist and tablin'...once a DJ has taken in and learned the art...i feel they are more well-rounded than most.
i'm starting to search specifically for mates with the same interest as me.. coz all my other friends are dun share the same affinity for the music.
i have a couple freinds who mix, a couple who work in clubs, a couple who love electronic, and the ones who dont fit thos categories all have mad respect and USUALLY dont that shit that is THAT stupid... hehehe usually...
one time we let ym stoned freind mix, haha there was one record going and the other table had nothig and he was fiddlig with those knobs,,, well the knobs on the side that had no record haha it was hilarious he did this for 5 mins while me and my boy watched and laughed.
I have the one crappy rap record that for some reason they threw into one of my orders. It was free, it was shit and now it is a scratching record for all my aspiring DJ scribble friends. Its hilarious how so many people think its so awesome to make that scratching noise. I guess its just the novelty of it all....
the novelty of it all...
Well I had that experience yesterday.
I took my tables down to a place where we meet (youthhouse) and the only thing they could think of is scratching trance.
and they were, WOW awsome !!!
god damn, I really wanted to kick their ass but , hey, they are my ignorant non trance loving friends
Then I kicked em out of the booth and did my thing
