I would record 6 mins of silence and do a clubmix on the b-side! - Oliver Lieb hehehe

oakenfold: i know that i will be flamed for this but i am the best dj in the world

"I dont want to lead people, I want to tempt them, to create a new world for them, just for that very small moment when they are losing themselves in my music. I want to inspire them.-Paul van Dyk

"...too many people are simply in it for the money and fame, and not actually interested in producing quality tunes.. " - Ian Van Dahl.

"it's unbelievable..." - Alex Morph (TE 2002)

Brian Transeau (BT) on Music
Totally. I love what guys like Oliver Lieb and Paul Van Dyk do. I hate that ATB and those sorts of people have prostituted this stuff. You listen to an ATB track and then you listen to Sasha, and the difference is as obvious as listening to Led Zeppelin and Rachmaninoff.

Laurent Garnier on Music
For Garnier it's also a question of quality. "The problem is a lot of things I hear out here on the radio are not trance - I mean that ATB track I heard the other day - is this trance? This is fucking Tellytubbies music."

Richie Hawtin on DJ Mix Albums

It's like a business card, you know like "Here I am, book me for a gig, can I get some more money please!" That's kind of disappointing to me.

Armand Van Helden talking to DJ MAG

"Most people wish I was dead."

Jimmy Van M

Lots of people ask if I'm keen to have a hit. I don't really set out trying to make underground or commercial music - but if a piece of my expressionism is picked up and well received by the public then great. DJing is more about play than working for me still, which is cool. I never want to lose sight of that.

Liam Gallagher on Posh Spice

Liam then attacked Posh Spice, saying: "(Posh) can't even chew chewing gum and walk in a straight line at the same time, let alone write a book. Why is Posh Beckham writing a book of her memoirs?"

Liam Gallagher on Damon Albarn of Blur

Liam asks: "What's that nonsense that's on the radio? It's like three-year-olds' music, worse than Steps. Whatever happened to his beloved Blur?" Liam promised to "slap" the "bald" Albarn the next time he sees him.

Dave Lee from Jakatta has had a go at Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk, accusing them of making boring albums.

He told Radio 1: "As much as I like Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk, I find listening to their albums, all the way through, boring

quote:
I think dance music is a beautiful thing, it's a great thing, and that's what I want to show the world: dance music can really bring people together. We're living in a very tough time, and tough times have always been. Its just about showing people we should not be sitting at home being scared for whoever we should be scared for, its about going out, its about meeting people, having a great time with your friends-- that's what life is about. Its not about bullshit or whatever. So I challenge people to come to my shows, see what happens, not to me, but to your friends, to all the people in the club.

thats brilliant

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

-Tiesto

Posted by UnBracKo on Jun-27-2004 13:07:

I don't remember the exact words but Richie Hawtin said sth like this in response of a question about the sets in mp3:

"A set is created to make dance the crowd not for listening at home. A electronic set should only be heard in the party and when this party finishes the set shouldn't be heard for nobody, it should only be keeped on the mind of clubbers who were in the event."

Posted by A.J. on Jun-27-2004 13:13:

Exactly.

All these people complain about Tiesto and PVD having similar tracklists and barely changing their tracklists for months.

The music is for the people in the clubs, no the people on the internet.
