it comes down to the fact that at the time it was a great track...it was something different...and its still good...

this track can still rock a fuckin crowd...

Well this is my first post on this forum, so hear goes!

Lizard is a master piece! it was some 3/4 years ahead of its time in the trance/hard trance style.

For me it still has the best breakdown of all time!! make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

its all about the phat bass, and the atmosphere it creates. makes ppl go nuts!

Well i hate the track- but i can still play it today and it will get a BIG reaction.
i certainly dont work in trance only clubs-
In fact i played it as recently as 2 weekends ago.

It's a classic I think because it stands out, and the fact it sounds a bit unpolished and crap is its charm - a true anthem!

I personally am not a fan of his work. like that iguana song, its so horrible, but mtv will play it. Hah he has yellow tiger print in his hair for god sake, he makes trance into a homo joke, to get personal. ehhh he sucks.

the majority of his songs that I've heard are debatably either techno or tech-trance
imo techno is definitely not for newbies, imagine listening to stuff like avril lavigne - sk8er boi and then listening to (random track) adagio for strings (ferry corsten mix)
its just not easy to comprehend and requires a different mindset

I dislike it immensly.

i like it and i think it fit nicely in the gatecrasher '99 EM, but i could see how some people might not dig it.

Mauro is one of the best DJ/Producers

If you have never been to one of his sets live at 6-8am, his music just simply moves you

Ahh seeing someone flaming this track made me want to listen to it again and bask in its' glory

lizard is a class tune, probably the one picotto tune i really like.
you have to understand that some tunes are made to be played on a big sound system, and lizard definitely falls into that category.

I believe thats what we're missing here.. a big soundsystem.
I think Lizard is a power tune... and has lotsa energy in it. not a favorite or anything, but definately not an amateur production. It takes experience and skill to make a tune that sounds simple yet powerful.

I'm sure Lizard is actually six years old as it was first released in 1998, and lets face it the trance scene is defintly mssing these kind of tracks and it's catchy and energetic which most trance tracks don't have these days and trance producers who try and do so fall way past the mark Lizard has set, maybe some people dislike it with the bunch of tits who have tried to bootleg the track so often. Mauro actually refused to clear Lizard with that Damaged vocal in.

NOBODY CAN TOUCH PICOTTO, no matter what anyone says.. hes the man hands down

if you can't make a decent comment about the tune then why bother posting you fuckin retard.. It's when people start making personal jokes about producers that you realise they don't have a clue about music and that they can't think of anything better to say. Lizard was one of the biggest trance anthems of all time, so if he makes such homo songs then that would make the average trance fan a homo. Don't think so..

Lizard is an absolute classic. The Claxixx Mix was a really original tune, with an electric synth riff and some really cool percussion, not to mention a massive breakdown. The RAF Mix- wow, that track is one of the best tech-trance records I've ever heard. While the original Lizard was a bit dull, these two mixes make it one of the all-time greats.

Still never figured out what the second line of the vocals says though.
