my buddy works at docks..... +1 to the tiesto rumour.
godskitchen always bring thier own dj's, expect to see doods like jon o'bir, tall paul, john 00 fleming, pulser, etc... i have'nt been to their website in ages, but when they do tours they always list the dj's. they only problem with having a GK night at the docks would be that it's not going to be authentic, godskitchen parties are sick cuz of the decor they use, but seeing as how when they do tours they use gay little banners and such instead of their huge shiny angels, and big GK letters, i would expect not much but good music.
I heard that these events will be held outside!

Lots of rumour but here are the straight goods:
- the soundsystem is the same package as boa except 4 TIMES LARGER.
- They are doing a multi-million dollar renovation that will completely change the look of the place - inside and out. The plans look amazing.
- Godskitchen will be doing the Friday's
Hold tight - I think this might spell a rebirth for the docks!
OS
alliances are cool
Aria have now an alliance with a strip joint
Didn't know the Docks was still open. The last time I was there was for the State '01 party when Armin made his T.O debut. The Docks is actually my favorite venue. I remember when they used to throw awesome parties there like Connected and Big Bud. Definitely looking forward to partying there again!!!
that sound system sounds very very promising.
All i know is if the Docks is rebuilding, it'll need a healthy dose of TAs, sice their regular clientele is more intered in grunting and fighting than music.
The Tiesto party @ The Docks last year was ok...I mean the venue is freaking amazing, as for the vibe? Sure there was one but it felt contrived. Meh. This new change should be good.

Yeah, Tiesto at the Docks last June was an incredible nite. My fav party thats for sure!
this is gonna be a crazy summer in TO that's forsure..
Wow, if the Docks is in fact getting the same system as Boa (Alpha Dynacord) but larger, this is big news! Boa itself has become a catalyst and lived up to it's name by bringing Toronto back onto the International Circuit...
Boa has landed amazing talent: Jeff Mills, Sander Kleinenberg (twice!), Satoshi Tomiie, you name it! It has really forced the other clubs in TO to rethink their strategies and compete.
As someone posted earlier, the Guv is vying for big names and it's definetly because Boa has come onto the scene!
I originally thought Boa would just rival the Montral scene let alone potentially transform the TO landscape; which I think is doing a good job at the moment! It's wicked that I don't have to pay $150+ for a VIA ticket to travel 5 hours east to party at Stereo or Aria!
This is really good news for Toronto

| Originally posted by Cyrus King I still get the same chills i felt when i was there every time i listen to the set. Decor, vibe, music, tiesto jumping up and down, wednesday night, no crack heads from guv.. ONLY TRUE FANS SCREAMING AND JUMPING for four hours straight! I dont think anything can rival that party, not even my experience at Cream in Amnesia Ibiza with PVD! |
