Talking

I got an idea, round them all up and send them to Canada's far north (where it is barren waste land and damn cold year round) or banish them to greenland. Then they will not haunt us with their rubbish anymore. Please someone finish off ATB, he needs to realize he is a stupid german sellout that cannot make intelligent music like pvd, timo maas and oliver lieb and also oliver klein to a point

Exclamation Alice Deejay....

I noticed a few posts in this thread, and I just have to reply... Alice Deejay is not a "HER" Alice Deejay=DJ Jurgen and DJ Jurgen is a MAN... :-) but my vote for cheeziest producer has to be Sash! He was good back in the days of Encore Une Fois... but these days, he's crap.. IMO

Half of it doesn't even have any trance elemtents, it's just pop dance made for those thousands who bought "Toca's Mircacle". Sash! is straight up cheese but not even a tenth near as bad as Fragma.

Well, my point was that Fragma have a bigger potensial than Sash!, they CAN make nice tunes if they want to. However, I agree with you that Fragma should be included in the list, some of their tracks are really some of the worst cheese available!

Posted by dazza on Sep-02-2001 16:05:

how do you define cheesy trance

dazza

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Sep-02-2001 17:48:

Something thats likely to appear on them pop year complilations usually brought by people who have never been clubbing or heard of a trance dj before, the over popular stuff basicially, thats got the most awful sound like the artist on the poll actually u can't call them musicians, but on the other hand the best way to define cheese, is to remeber the worst tracks by people like fragma, ian van dahl then listen say to another track that occasionaly crops up on the radio but mostly TV and sounds simular to them artists on the poll, its so forumaltic you'll graduly get the knack of noticing whats proper cheese they mostly all sound the same anyway like for an instance Public Domain and Warp brothers is bacially hard house cheese now i know their tracks r slighty different but the tracks all sound simular to each other.

It has got 2 b DJ Jean, i fuckin h8 him! He is absolute shit, worse than ne otha!

Posted by Jukx on Sep-04-2001 14:04:

Why I hate Fragma so much is because of "Everytime You Need Me". That track is definitely cheesier than any Sash! track! The voice of that Maria Rubia is so whiney it makes me want to throw up. I suppose "You Are Alive" is passable as a cheesy, catchy commercial pop dance track but that's all it could get it away with being!

Darude Sucks BIG time, he's the worst i have ever heard, and DJ Aligator Project should also been there, cus he is REALLY BAD!!!

DJ Aligator is fucking disgusting, some of the worst music around but it shouldn't be in there because that would be a complete insult to all the other cheesy producers in this poll because DJ Aligator makes Ian Van Dahl or Fragma seem like gold!

Posted by Jayci on Oct-19-2001 13:51:

I totally agree with you DJ-Red. Darude is so damn annoying, playing the same sound in every single song. Someone should take that synthesizer or whatever it is that he uses so much and see what he can do...probably shrivel and die. He's got no talent at all, PURE CHEESE!!

Posted by TranceFusion on Oct-20-2001 17:02:

Hello!

I voted for Alice DeeJay. @first I didn't mind the 'better off alone' song when I first started listing to tranc but now I cant really stand it....?

Posted by bluE_Neon on Nov-08-2001 14:40:

why is Safri Duo up there? da fuck is wrong with u ppl...his set from Trance Energy with Johan Gielen is sick, i dont think at all dat he's a commercial, ya some songs r played on da radio by him...but their pretty good

worst DJ got 2 Darude, DJ Jean, and Ian Van Dahl, hey i actually like dat track 'Castles in The Sky' ....alice deejay, jesus, my friend a year ago bought her album and fuck every song was practically da same just pure bullshit, so umm ya alice deejay as well, fragma is cheese, but there more of dance dan trance 2 me...Sash is pretty good, i still luv dat tune 'Stay'

Posted by Kia Kaha on Nov-21-2001 17:37:

Well I voted for Judge Jules - actually he's up there twice cos he's Angelic as well - anyway just about everyone up there is pure cheese but he gets my vote for being the most egotistical human being on the planet, he's so in love with himself and can't stop talking over his own mix and playing those bloody 'the judge won't budge' things, that his sets are totally unlistenable ... all except that Qontact one, I only presume they didn't have a microphone for him, thank you jesus!!

I'd budge him ... into the path of an oncoming express train ... twat!

Oh yeah and he supports Arsenal as well

Posted by John on Nov-21-2001 22:34:

You should have made a button with "ALL"
No serious, personally I dont really care if artists are commercial or not. It's the tune that counts. I still love better off alone by Alice deejay. Too bad thats the only good track they produced. Wippenbergs remix of Castles in the sky by ivD is class to me too.
Dj jean sux big time, and so does darude. ATB's first track was good. I dont know what he's doing now, but it aint much.
Sash!? Never liked his songs. Public domain sux, Dave Pearce and DJ scrabble or something are totally unknown to me =))
Barthezz...doubtfull. The original versions of his songs are pathetic, but the most remixes are good (dumonde remix of on the move)
Then there's only 2 left Judge Jules/Angelic and Safri Duo. judge Jules' DJ set on trance energy was wicked so hes oke =) Safri Duo is commercial but for some reason I like his first 2 tracks. (baya Baya is close to the worst crap I've ever heard) Cosmic Gate remix of Samb Adagio is wicked =))

Oke that was my opinion hehehe.
peace

Damn I though I was original...oops =)

Posted by ambrus07 on Nov-27-2001 02:46:

erm..

My vote is on Dj Jean for sucking bad, but don't knock Sash, they got me into trance in the first place, their recent stuff is admittedly horrible but c'mon It's My Life was mostly a good album.

and i'd just like to say FUCK YOU for saying Judge Jules is cheese. I don't know where you're coming from saying that, you must be one of those fence sitters that knock everything that all the crappy dance magazines do. I think he's absolutely brilliant.

I do however agree with the others that the rest of these pretty much blow except for one or two songs and certain remixes of their stuff. But i do like Darude, if that makes me not a true trance fan than so be it.

Posted by inatrance on Nov-27-2001 14:41:

hahaha too many to choose from

Posted by Zombie0915 on Nov-28-2001 01:33:

There is a lot of stuff I can tolerate out there that is looked at as cheese. But my definition of cheese is, crappy music that makes me feel really stupid and corny when I have it playing in my car, so maybe thats why I dont call all those artists "cheezy", but lucky instead. I voted for skribble because all the teenyboppers around here went crazy for his spring break mix. And all that ****** does is pretend to scratch and look cool, then plays the stupid siren over and over again. And people go crazy for that shit, I just wanna strangle that guy every times he comes on TV. As for Barthezz, Darude, Alice Deejay, etc. They aren't bad I don't think, they just got lucky and people caught on to them they are just expressing themselves I think. Sure they get played too much, but Its the media's fault, not the musician, They just don't know any better and aren't open to find the good stuff But friggin skribble is a bunch of bullshit, so is sash and DJ Jean, but I can only vote once I guess.
