Add me to THIS list!

We hear you all!!!
We have just asked MB for availability in june or july, Derrick May and Rolando are confirmed for the May 24 long weekend, and we are commited to high caliber techno events on long weekends through the summer.
But Skipper has to first experience Boa - being compared to Aria is hurtfull to our ego.

As it should be... There's no comparison in my mind.

And that event you listed.... EEK!

awww, I didn't mean it like that.

You can't deny the similarities though! Great sound, after hours...something different than the other clubs in TO. I'm not saying Boa's inferior, it's just got some of the same great things going for it that Aria does.

I think Barbara would agree.

Thanks for listening Boa, we appreciate it!

Posted by samhouse on Apr-21-2004 16:32:

oooh id be at boa to hear the mistress...she owns....

Posted by malek on Apr-21-2004 16:44:

mr boa-redux have you been to Aria? and when?

Its harsh to bash a club like Aria, which will celebrate its 3rd anniversary this weekend, when you guys have just opened your doors.

When you guys will book all the talented djs that spinned on Aria's decks in a such short period of time (3 yrs), then you'll be in a position to talk about "ego".

Till then, go on copying Stereo's style and "superior" mindset you seem to have going.

Furethermore, bashing Aria when you try to invite Misstress Barabara (her favorite club) isn't really smart.

Posted by SKELETOR on Apr-21-2004 17:15:

lets not start a boa vs. aria war here!

both clubs are really fucking awesome, lets just leave it at that.

Posted by Skipper on Apr-21-2004 17:15:

No crapping in my thread!

Both are different clubs! I only compared them because the things I love about Aria are things Boa loves too. Big DJs, big sound, serious party.

Barbara has even said herself that her last few TO gigs have disappointed her...at system, when they had to change the mixer during her set and she lost her flow, at sound emporium where the monitors were shiite...let's get her back to what is now one of TO's best clubs, and show her how good TO can be.

Woohoo!!

And just for the record, Skipper, I'm sure that I can round up many more people than just Sally (aka Allegory) and myself. So put it down as me + 5-ish

word

and that wasn't my intentions.

but reading ignorant and obnixious remarks like the ones posted in this thread is frustrating.

if she spins at Boa, I will make the effort to make the trip over.

Comparing Boa to Aria is a bit mismatched... I've been to both and Boa blows Aria out of the water by a longshot. AND considering they've only been open since January they've already been able to book; Sander Kleinenberg, Frankie Knucklez, Jeff Mills, Matt C (for his birthday)... and the list goes on. Fairly impressive seems like an understatement.

Note: I would love to hear Steve Lawler at Boa... My dream come true!

I really don't want this to be a Boa vs Aria thread because that's not what I meant, and I think you know that.

I meant that I think Barbara would like Boa for the same reasons she is exclusive to Aria in Montreal.

Posted by Arcticboy on Apr-21-2004 20:03:

OK, then. I'll come and see Babara with a good number of friends if she comes. I've never seen her and have wanted to for a long time, and her beats with BOA's base will shake my ass till I drop dead!

Posted by boa on Apr-21-2004 20:09:

No bashing intended, we do not engage in that form of politics at Boa, we let our sound do the taking. Aria is a very fine club, however we make it our duty to be better than everybody, and if we do not believe in it, neither would any of you!!!
Comments were solely intended to get skipper in here!!!

relax man, in no way did they say anything bad about Aria, nor did they bash it.

take a chill pill bro.. every club likes to consider it elite, which both Aria and Boa are... there wasn't anything bad said.

Sheesh

Posted by malek on Apr-21-2004 22:40:

bro,

do we understand the same english?

I know that HCP and Skipper did understand what boa-redux was implying...

anyways...

I just creamed my pants

But System's soundsystem is very good as well. Much better than before

I wouldn't mind if Danny Howells came to Boa though

Posted by jpgrdnr on Apr-22-2004 00:27:

I think that'd be a good time. Never seen the Mistress live.
Just d/l her Essential mix (2002). There's some strange mix in around 74:00 ish that sounds a lot like Chemical Brothers Out of Control (the bassline), but it doesn't show in the tracklisting. Any ideas?
