babywalker is dangerous because it can roll down the stairs...Hmmm,lets think..what if a baby without the walker falls down the stairs..what are they gonna ban then? Freaking canadians

I say, increase the dimensions of the babywalkers to 6 feet across...now lets seem em go anywhere...

If that situation with a baby and walker goes down the stairs, I suppose this would be the SAME baby that would go down the stairs without the walker??

Either way sounds like a scrapegoat for those parents that aren't watching when they should be...

actually its not. The injury mechanism is competly different.

a crawling baby is all of 1 foot, maybe a foot and .5 off the ground(head)
if they are to fall down the stairs, it would be low speed, and more like a uncontrolled slide (did anybody else body slide downstairs as a child?)

in the walker, their head is up alot higher, increasing probability of head and neck injuries because they now topple over, instead of sliding. Also, walkers move significantly faster than a crawling baby, leaving less time for even an attentive parent to stop them.

Jay, I think your thinking of the states. Its not as easy in Canada to sue someone if you get hurt. Much, much easier in the states.

Yeah, just like most handguns come with a safety and they tell you not to shoot any innocent people when you buy it.

The point is, as TrueToTheCrew pointed out, that it only takes one minor slip-up within an ocean of responsible parenting in order for a baby to get injured.

BTW what's this about McDonald's? Did I miss some important news item?

Not disputing the facts here, but shouldn't the stairs have something blocking them sans baby-racers anyways?

I'm not the greatest advocate of 'baby-proofing' a house anyways except for the very basic precautions; stairs would seem like a pretty basic one to me...

The only safe solution to kids hurting them selves is to duct tape them to walls that way they can't hurt them selves! Heaven for bid someone gets a bump on the head or somthin When i was young i was dropped out of a carage onto the cement floor!!! and i turned out....well i lived at least

as I said before I flipped in one of those more than ones, and I had a crappy one. Also on my first attempt to climb out of my bed, I landed on my head
