If a track was released in the past in very limited edition and now you can legally get a copy of it that you can use in your mixes by downloading it I'll pay for it. Another example might be that in the past I bought CDs that had 12 tracks and I only liked one of them. Instead I'd download that track for a smaller price... I just thought of another reason, why not support the songs that you like but they never got released . You can't buy them on vinyl or CD but the artist is providing MP3 for the track. Why not support that amateur production by paying for it or making a little donation.

I'll not pay for mp3s when I can download them for free. I'll rather buy them on vinyl..

i find the price to be not very good for what you get here. Rough conversion of 1pound = AUS$2.50 per track. Most cd singles here are $5-6. For that you get many mixes on a much better format, without the extra overhead of bandwidth and burning yourself. maybe if some of these sites gave access to those rare tracks, burnt them on demand (as wav's) and mail them out i'd buy into that. The mp3 version is little use outside my loungeroom, just not good enough for a big system.

I will always download for free. I also plan on getting a good majority of my playlist on vinyl some day.

I'll pay for albums and mix CDs, because I can get them shipped from England to the States for only $13 (including shipping), instead of paying $20 here, most of which will go to the RIAA.

There are a lot more reasons, though.
