I like trance.
Ish.
Trance to me is Josh Wink - Higher States of Consciousness. Sure, it has house elements (4 on the floor) but it's that wicked buildup and 303 sounding drill that launches you.
Stuff on the Platipus label is trance - Art of Trance, Quietman.
I definately like the 303 but then you could consider that acid house. Trance can be a generic reference in that it's any tune that takes you on a journey
Back around 90-92 you either had techno or house music. Then around 93 early trance and drum n bass. By 94 and 95, early psytrance and goa came about.
Some of the newer stuff like Robert Miles Children is good but borderline too commercial for my tastes. Too much of the stuff put out today is cheese trance which could be done by just about anyone with the right software and some time.

Concept In Dance was the first early goa/psytrance comp I was able to find and pick up. That was 1994. Art of Trance and Oliver Lieb were around the same time.
Sure, things were going on in Goa even back in the late 80s, weren't they, only it was more industrial-sounding and not what we consider trance today.
I was fortunate enough to work at a music store in 90-91 and again from 94-95 so I was able to see the listing of all the new releases during that time. It was when I spent most of my money on music
Tiesto was known to be more or less Uplifting/Epic, with Gouryella, Alibi, Magik 1 thru 5...nowadays he's definitely doing more Progressive stuff, which is refreshing...Flight643 is a killer track!
