Hmmm... no!

Ok, maybe, after that no-smoking law has been fully enforced.

After all these years, Ive avoided the resident nights @ Guvernment for so long! Various sketched out stories and the behavior of the ZOO really turned me off.

So here is the official review of my first resident night of the Guvernment.

I had a blast! The crowd isnt so sketchy and the amount of cracked out 40yr old Azns werent too bad. Not many GINOs around, found out there new hang out is in the DRINK, so they are barely in the main room. The club itself was very busy, but wasnt rammed to the point were you cant breathe or shoulder to shoulder rammness. Bump into a lot of old party-goers I use to rave with, back in 99. Vibe was ok, but the energy was pretty crazy.

Mark Oliver

Alright, everyone single person in Toronto big ups this guy to the max. I didnt understand why, b/c the only times Ive seen Mark spin was opening or closing a headliner. Hes great there, but last night made me realize his truly lives up to the legend. Mark Oliver held it down beyond proppa! His mixing and programming skills are just as good as Paul van Dyk. I was shock and I had to big him up in person. Very smooth indeed! As Charles said to me last night Mark is Solid!

Security; I would have to say, is a little bitchy at times, but they are doing their jobs and watching the place to hold down the law and order.

Well there you go, thats my honest review about the club. I would have to say, its just as good as a headliner night, minus the rammness!

To all the TAs that came, I hope you guys enjoy your night! If you catch me on a resident night at the Guvernment come say HI and Ill take care of you!

Last night was a lot of fun (minus the guest list fiasco, but thx for the drink tickets in return, John). Mark was on another journey thru the '80s, but the coolest remix (and tune) of the night goes to the Steve Winwood's- "Valerie" remix- WHAT A TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know whose mix it is?

And for the 1st time ever, we got thrown out. LOL! (But we were leaving anyways). Friend needed to use the bathroom b4 we left, and in her out-of-it frame of mind, she chooses the 1 stall with the flooded toilet, doesnt notice, and after puking into that stall, flushed it, which caused it to flood some more. Tried to sneak her out b4 security could nab her, but it didn't work. We just got personally escorted out, lol! oh well!

Nice to meet nycion-x and John the LURKER....

Peace out to the usual crew & dancing partners on our piece of real estate on the dance floor by the bathrooms.

i had a great time that night. met a few TAs including moreesh (hope i spelled ur name right) and nathalie. this is my second time at the guv. the first time i went was back in october when paul van dyk was spinning which was absoloutely an AMAZING night! it was also my first 19+ event to go to (still 17 back then) and since i got like the best of the best, every event i went to after that i was expecting to be the same quality or maybe even better. still they turned out great.

I haven't been on a regular Spin night in so long! I usually have more fun on the 'normal' nights...seeing all the regulars and such. MO tears the place apart!! And of course Manzone & Strong and George William are always groovin...Woo!!
