lol no dont i live in ibiza which is considered one of the nicest parts of spain and besides the clubbing i think its shit. beaches are completely overcrowded in the nice months, clubs are actually also overcrowded, everything is expensive. people are unfriendly to foreigners and besides islands like ibiza and mallorca most of the spanish mainland is like desert except the mountanious regions. spain is like "used up" and spoiled by mass tourism.

Do you speak Castillian Spanish on the Baleric Islands? Are the Islands more related to the Valencia region?

I would just love to live in Barcelona. It's so cultured. It has a great pace of life. Ferry ride to Ibiza (I think). The architechture is beautiful. And the Catalan women.... amazing! OMG!!!

I find that Catalunya is easier to understand than Castilian Spanish since I know Italian. I'm not a linguist, so I can't confirm this, but I'm pretty sure Catalunyan is more like Italian. I definately know it's similar to Octtian in southern France (the best part).

Another place I like that's not too far (relatively) is the Provence region of France. I love Nice, the French Riviera and Monaco (and San Remo w00t).

well Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian... sounds similar for me. I can understand Italian and french without not many problems.

Barcelona is too big for me, here in Girona the life is more quiet and you have all the services you need but Barcelona is a great city, just I wouldn't live there (very stressfull hehe)

Oww and yes from Barcelona to Ibiza is only 20 minutes by plane and by ferry one day .

I'm sure Canada is also great, isn't it?

Culturally, North America is terrible. The weather in Canada (in most places) is very cold and snowy in the winter.

The good thing about North America is that there is a lot of space. Also, the economy is relatively good - most people here are wealthy by world standards. We also have very good services and infrastructure. Also, there is very little corruption in day-to-day life. (Although the Canadian federal government is corrupt ).

Overall, I'd much rather live in Spain, especially for culture.

Not all of Spain. I've been alone swimming in virgin beaches here in my province.
Spain has all the paisages you can imagine. Atlantic, mediterranean, continental... For example where I live is too rainy and with a lot of green trees and 300 Km away in the south you can find an olive trees field.

Catalan and Spanish are the official languages in the Balearic islands.

Are you kiddin'??
Ibiza for me is just for clubbing!! When I saw the Ibiza beaches I almost laugh, I have better beaches here.

So do you want to seperate from Spain? Would you take the Baleric Island with yuo?

Posted by blitz~ on May-06-2004 21:43:

catalan is official language here but the local people speak a dialect of catalan which is called ibicenco. am leaving this island this summer anyway to live in berlin for 2 years. so whatever

spain is overated though

well there are some very nice beaches here, apart from the mass touristic ones. but the clubbing scene is also soooo overcrowded in the summer. i went to cream@amnesia last summer when pvd oakenfold and tiesto were spinning and i left early because i couldnt move a cm. they let way too many people in the club, everybody was sweaty, bad air and very warm and it was just...crap. plus for a simple WATER bottle they let you pay 12 and a red bull is like 16 and a beer 20. and ticker for cream was 55....i know better ways to spend my money.

only thing i really like about the place are those beautiful spring days when its not too warm and not too cold and you can just chill out on the beach and stuff.

in winter its really shitty though, worse than summer. nothing is open and everything still expensive plus its really cold and rainy here as well...

Ibiza -- Berlin

Almost polar opposites lol

Why? Balearic Islands, Valencia region and Catalonia are autonoumous regions of Spain. I don't want the independance of my region, some ppl here yes, they want but I like be in Spain but with my own culture, language... In general here we want more autonomy not the total independance.

p.d. now I have to go to drink a beer with a mate, talk tomorrow see ya!

I have to move somewere and me and my family are, for lack of a better word, depressed living here in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. While it is one of the nicer cities in the world, it just doesnt have what I want. Im not exactly sure what I want. I just wanna be happy where I am and have those boundries: "Good warm, sunny, no-rain weather, amazing women, a good clubbing atmosphere, and good friendly people etc."...anybody?...anybody?

Don't come down here to redneck city then...

how much more vague can you get? this sounds like a description of any pleasant place you'd like to visit. it could really be manipulated into describing virtually any place. the thing is that you need to weigh each component out. for instance, if you want a good clubbing atmosphere, say Ibiza would be the first place you'd think of but i'm sure you'd find more of a friendly environment and better weather in say...phuket, fiji, or somewhere in the caribbean.

Conneticut, it's very beautiful. You have to have some money, but near the lighthouse. Anywhere near the beach is awesome. I personally love where I came from, Delaware. Pennsylvania has so much country, it's so peacful and beautiful.

I lived in delaware and now Tampa. I am getting older and I think about actually being old.

Well I can't imagine myself here in tampa, at a mall, at 78, and not feelings old.

In delaware, I wouldn't care because it's just different there, it's a different feeling. You don't feel left out or different.

Anyway, enough emo crap.

*razmatazz*

Can't believe you said Connecticut
I guess the best part is in 2hrs you can reach Boston, NYC, and Providence but connecticut itself doesnt' have much. The winters are horrible, it gets lots of rain in the spring, the home and tax rates are absurd and there isn't much to do.

I can't find the perfect place. I want somewhere 75 year round, within an hour from the ocean, that doesn't rain much, has a good job market in the tech sector, has decent nightlife or is close to a major city (within 1.5hrs), has reasonable home and property rates, has no major natural disasters frequent (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, mudslides, floods, etc), is not overly congested or polluted, and has a good resale value.

The closest I can find so far in the USA is raleigh, north carolina area. Not the greatest night life but good job market, semi close to the beach, reasonably close to charlotte, good air quality, reasonable home and property rates. Downsides are that it rains more frequent than I like and is prone to hurricanes (as is a lot of the east coast). I looked at Florida as an option but its too hot for me, property rates are really getting too high, crime is very high, palmetto bugs are rampant and I dont like that, its very prone to hurricanes and lots of rain, and is a bit too touristy.

I'm about 40 miles south of the border into Vancouver, BC, right now. Bellingham, Washington is a nice place as far as the ladies go, but I've had a girlfriend for a year and a half and the weather here is really crappy most of the time. (Wind like none other coming off of the bay, which is literally a stone's throw from school.)

If I could be anywhere else in the world right now... It'd be the beach... Somewhere on an island off the coast of New Zealand.

Give me my woman, some cold drinks, an umbrella to shade my oh-so-white-ass, and a beach towel. That's all I need.

Vancouver is not bad... wait until you have lived in Surrey, B.C. near the Cloverdale area... Nothing happens down there except the Cloverdale rodeo and the International Women's Fastball Fastpitch league

ha, connecticut... new england weather = impossible to deal with for some people. 75 one day, snows the next day. in the winter sometimes gets FREAKING cold and in the summer 95+ heatwaves that stay for weeks... don't forget several feet of snow at least twice every winter

if I could have my taxes just a bit lower and the summer just a bit longer, i wouldn't want to move anywhere else.

i think having a cold and a hot season is great. Makes the summer just more exciting and you want to live every moment of to its fullest! Its hard to explain.

Posted by Dj Dovla on May-16-2004 07:28:

yeah .. Vancouver's club scene is shit , everything is so far away unless you live downtown which is dirty overcrowded and can't never find parking . Women are ok . people are cold and snobby.

From the cities I visited , I liked Frankfurt and Paris , but Milan is my favorite ... so much nice clothing , its unbelievable ..

and of course Belgrade ..
