I can't personally get into it because of the guitar being ever so slightly different... hats off, I probably couldn't do a better job at recreating it but man, the guitar in the original was legendary... just takes one note of it to bring just about every trance fan on the planet to their knees lol

It's very well made, I'll give it that. The arrangement with all the strings and samples works wonderfully in a blissfull chilled out type way, and despite the guitar being different it does capture some of the atmosphere of the original, which is all good

Eugh, didn't like the ending! That lovely deep pad just cuts out abruptly, ruined the whole mood! Haha, am i being too picky?

All in all, I don't think it'll replace the original ambient mix for me but it's a damn good effort

well, i wasn't trying to recreate the guitar exactly...as it is, i've already had a few people say it's too similar to the ambient dub... so if anything, it needs more distinguishing elements, not additional similarities!

yeah, the ending doesn't fade out or taper off or anything (yet). it's not completely done, what's posted here is like 98-99% done, but the differences will be very minor and probably will go unnoticed for the most part.

thanks for listening, and thanks for the comments!

Ahh fair enough. Just to me, the original guitar MAKES the track, it wouldn't be seven cities without it

I wasn't referring to the official ones Grim I was reffering mostly to the other amature remixes. (Tho this is very similar to the official Ambient Mix!) As a memeber (& former member) of a large number of Producers circles I have seeen a large number of remixes of this track. There are about 30 chillout mixes of this track on Reasonstation alone !

I still think this is a well produced remix. Cristaline refers to this as a learning experiance, which basically nullifies my original comments anyway...

what I cant figure out...

If ElectronicMaji didn't really like it (I can appreciate your skills, without liking it too!) then why is it the first song on his most recent DJ SET?

HYPOCRITE!?!

interesting observation, the logic behind that is beyond me...but hey, at least he used it in his mix, so i've got no complaints...

anyways, i re-uploaded the song elsewhere...so for those who haven't heard it yet, you can get it here:

being a solar stone fan from the getgo and a producer myself this s a real nice peice of work. i think it is real relaxing the strings at 5:45 are too prominant tho ..maybe adjust the attack a lil so they fade in more smooth.

9/10
