I live in the 1000 islands, and I live on the water. I grew up as a little fish, constantly swimming at the beach !!

Johnny, I think your beach party is a great idea !

Thumbs up Beach Party

Awesome idea.....our first annual TOTA Beach party!!!!!

You can get permits for the Toronto Island to host different events....and it could be quite pricey, as well alcohol may be a slight prob.....you have to get the caterers from the island to serve you drinks (or something like that). But it may be able to be done, the city hosts the dragon boat race after parties there, and the Caribana after parties as well. And last summer the NIKE 5k race after party was held there and they served alcohol.

I will help plan this possibly upcoming event if you would like....who else wants to help look into things???????

I DO I DO...will e mail you later!

I'll definitely make some phone calls and will do a little research about other beaches as well (wasaga, simcoe and etc...)

Spent a few hours driving around Simcoe today. I started in Barrie and went South-East, checking out every 'beach' on the way. Judging from what i saw, it would be safe to cross Simcoe off the list. The longest stretch of sand i found was about 10 meters, and had houses on both sides. I'm guessing there are spots without houses further East, but i didn't go that far. And there's definitely no sand there, just stones. I also found a place that used to rent boats and jetskis last year, but they no longer do. From what i heard, the only place on Simcoe that does rent stuff is all the way in Orilla. So it sounds like we're gonna have to go to Wasaga. I'm gonna go down there really soon and check things out. Gonna rent me some jetskis and do some serious swimming. As usual, anyone up for a roadtrip, hit me up.

So where is this place? Please don't say lake Ontario

do we have power at the beach? Run a line from a house ....
that would be very oldskool...just roll up and toss some PA gear and steal some juice
and then make some noise. Need an exit plan (if cops come how fast can you do a take down). Rentals can be done for a generator (like a good industrial unit)...not too pricy for a day or something. Just the PA has to be fairly decent. !!!! Anyone out there own one? with all the djs, promoters and gearheads out there I'm sure we can russel something up. Or a rental...prob'ly look around for a decent PA/amp package in the city.

Polish people are all about getting stuff smoked which is sort of like BBQ but much longer and more tasty.

But I don't live with any Polish people so our BBQs are Canadian.

The first time (and only) i started one up, i almost fell on my ass from the noise I'll ask around to see if they have something quieter. That or we can just set it up a few hundred feet away and run a cable. BTW, does anyone actually know how much power (which one of these) we would need?
