No. there are four criteria, and each record must meet two of them. The only two I can remember off the top of my head are:

- produced/written by a Canadian
- recorded in Canada

ahh, so if you pre-recorded a mixed set. Would that be considered Canadian?

Yes, If you play tracks written by a Canadian producer. Canadian content applies to individual tracks not DJ sets.
In order for a track to be qualified as Canadian content it needs to fall under the MAPL System.

The Music has to be written by a Canadian
or
The Artist has to be Canadian
or
The Production has to be Canadian
or
The Lyrics have to be written by a Canadian

^^ Paul, so how does it work when you air our mixes? My tracklisting for "wherkin" wasn't selected with MAPL in mind...

if you watch hockey (minus the volume) while your mixing, it gets automatic approval

Damn I think I caught some of this. I usually try and tune into this show cause it RAWKS!...

Although I think I tuned in after 11 (so it may have been the show after). I actually wanted to go down to the station and get the playlist for that show cause there were some dirrty tracks.

Either way congrats Sarah.

Because CHIN 100.7FM is licensed as an "Ethnic Radio Station" by the CRTC, we are only required to play 7% Canadian content per week, not 35% like all other stations. At the moment CHIN does about 15% Canadian content per week, just in their daytime programming.
Since the license requirements are met we do not need to worry so much about Canadian content on the overnight shows.

If you want more info on CANCON (Canadian Content) check out http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/cancon.htm
