Well here's the technique I usually use, obviously I don't do this everytime, but tell me if there are any problems with this:

1st Bass - Sub bass, EQ boosted at around the 100Hz mark. Not hitting the same time as the Bass Drum. No delay, a tad of reeverb.

2nd Bass - Rolling bass, EQ cut at around the 100Hz mark and slighty boosted at the 250Hz mark. Usually hits more often than the 1st bass, with some octave variations. Some delay, some reeverb.

Usually sounds pretty good to me.
