Maybe I'm missing something but isn't that the whole point? If you make your move right away, then you force them into going one way or the other (i.e. either slapping you, so you're free to go knowing that the charade is over, or reciprocating, in which case you've already gotten what you wanted).

This is almost the same story as the one I hear from guys who take a girl out, and the girl won't do anything with him, but she still gets pissy when he tries to talk to other girls. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the point was that there was no potential of sex involved, it was just these women using the *suggestion* of sex as a tool to get something else that they wanted ("spare tires" so to speak).
