Actually, my vad, he died of a slit throat. the kid stabbed him and the cop managed to get in a few shots at him before he passed out and died.

The mere fact that some of you are trying to make excuses for this ADULT is nearly as disturbing as his actions that killed a man with a wife and two children, in the act of serving his community.

Disgusting.

i found out today that i friggin knew this kid. i saw a picture of him, and recognized him. he went to my school. I know one guy that was really close with him, and he was so surprised because he said that the guy was so nice and just really quiet....never touched drugs or alcohol in his life....

....but his home life sucked.

plz correct me, did they get rid of this young offenders non sense or does it still exist?

Nope.
The Young Offenders Act was replaced with the Youth Criminal Justice Act in April of 2002. Though obviously still far from perfection, it's surely more effective than the YOA.

I love how "life" means next to nothing in this country. Since when does a 25-year sentence equate life in jail?

Agreed. Age is simply not an excuse in this case.

no im not makin excuses for him i just dont believe he is a psycho serial killer like some ofu and the media make him out to be..he killed someone yes but do it hink he was looking for a victim that night no..i think it happened because of the situation he put himself into and reacted in the wrong way

And this explains/excuses it how exactly?? Obviously the end result is hardly what he "planned" on doing with his evening, but what's done is done, and he should be dealt with in the harshest manner possible.

yes no doubt but to crucify him like the media is doing is wrong...end of story..law and sentencing depend on two things state of mind and action...i dont think he'll get life unless the media has that much say in things

Actually, he phoned in a fake robbery just so he could lure the officer to the scene.

Then he attacked the officer from behind.

Read Tuesday's Globe, there is much more to it. This lunatic was planning on killing every police officer in the city!

Someone should kill this kid in jail.
