About 10 people, I was so nervous I drank a beer. Bad idea, I couldn't concentrate but at least had a good buzz. Until my good friend came by and said "can you play something more upbeat?"

That pretty much where I am at right now... I spun last weekend I think at a mates house, and there was one hot chick there, stoned and drunk, and she kept coming up and dancing beside me... I was happy with that...

I played for 164 people on May 8th. I know the exact number because that is how many tickets we sold. I got sick of playing at parties where music wasn't the focus so I put on my own show and got a few other DJs to play with me.

(Oh I stole a pic for the bedroom DJ thread. Hope nobody cares...)

I wasn't really nervous and the night went off really well! We are going to do a 200 person show on Halloween. If anybody from Seattle wants to go...

Not sure who the other 20k plus peeps are but I have.
Not as a headliner or anything it has to be said. There is usually something on the beach in Brighton (England) every August Bank holiday. The year I played there was about 40k people on the beach and it was a great atmosphere but it leaned towards the commercial edge and wasn't that great in terms of music. It's a big free event that takes place every year. That year it was Sash who was headlining (I know... crap).
Just to put it into perspective when Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) played his Big Beach Boutique there was over 250k plus peeps on the beach.
Brighton has a good summer vibe and these sorts of things are what makes Brighton a cool place to be.
I also played at Brighton's gay pride festival one year in the dance area. And before anyone says it, no I'm not gay, but the vibe at this parade is awesome. I couldn't tell you how many people were there that day but it's a good laugh.

My favourite audience is usually around 600 ish. That in my opinion is probably the best atmosphere you will get in a club from my experience.

Cheers
Nem

I guess I'll answer an answer for my own thread/poll, the largest crowd I've played for so far was approx 200, which was a huge leap after playing for 20-30 people tops previously.

I'm now playing regularly for a bit over 100 people a night at one of the local afterhours clubs, hopefully we'll see our attendance grow over the coming months.

hope to play for 100+ over 2 weeks

I spin live on nullsoftTV ( www.nullsoft.com/ntv ) every week, and we maxed the server at 64 before we bumped it up. We usually get a 35 avg every week, going between 20 - 60 for the show. Its every sunday right now, and the website is down. But look for SasTV on winamps tv listings.

I DJ'd on local radio around four years ago for four weekends. There was a potential audience of 30,000. Of course, take off the amount of people that don't like dance music, and then deduct the ones who do but went out those nights, then the ones who tuned in and maybe didn't like it and that would leave about 50.

Posted by djeclipse on Jun-10-2004 09:17:

The most I've played for was about 2500 people. This was before I started spinning trance though. Since playing trance The most is around 300 or so. Hopefully that will change this summer.
