when i play out...

1. sit in the far left corner facing the booth and smoke some cigs and observe.
2. pee and wash hands
3. if not provided, get a bottle of sprite/7-up. dun ask, habit i developed when i first started spinning...so now it's my drink of choice.
3. get up there and do my stuff.

at home...

dun really have any rituals since i'm usually spinning, chatting, doing other stuff at the same time.

Just like freak, I have a lucky record.
I have a whole load of little mannerisms that I do.

When I put a record on the platter I do a little dummy scratch without the stylus being on it. Just a quick back and fourth a couple of times. Just to see how sticky it is on the deck.

Take a piss definate. Not to mention the clean hands thing.

I always watch the other DJs EQ settings. If it works and sounds good on the dance floor I make a mental note of it, if it sounds shite then I listen for what's needed and compensate accordingly.

As for the rest, you could probably make a whole psychological case study of it. Too much to mention.

i always have a tooth pick in my mouth and i turn on my mixer then left and right decks.... from there i adjust all sliders how i want them and i always start the first vinyl on the 3rd channel...
