Yeah, it would have been nice to win at home, but oh well. At least they put up quite the fight.

GO FLAMES!!!

The announcers said it went in. The nhl officials on the other hand said the puck was "on edge" and wasn't completely over the line... which is BS i mean come on the replay was so obvious... whatever, dont get me started

Angry

St Louis' goal should not have counted, because one of the Flames got tripped up. Refs are so bogus.

yeah but theres nothing they can do about it. the should have got up quicker and one of the forwards should have taken the man coming in for the rebound.

It's SHIT!!!!!!!

the russian loser got 2...facking goal suck...sighs....

I wish to point out that even IF CALGARY LOSES

TAMPA was led by

CANADIANS...as usual

we show up when it matters....we got heart

see Canada will get the last laugh, when all the other national teams get their asses kicked in September at the World Cup...nuff said

DAMN DAMN DAMN!

It was great nonetheless for Calgary.

Beating 3 division champions to win the Western Conference was no easy task and it pays to know that they played with heart and desire.

congrats to tampa!

see I don't see why people say good run to Calgary. I played hockey for a good 15 yrs and I hated every single time, we lost a game, especially a championship game, we lost one year in overtime 4-3 on a fluke goal that beat me. I hated to lose and it was never we got 2nd, it was how gutted I was that we got 2nd and not 1st. You come so close and close just is not good enough in sports. Either you win or you are 1st place loser, which sucks more than jenna jameson.

Well just got home....

I am.....so disappointed.
I'm no DIEHARD Calgary Flames fan but I do love watching them play
I've gone to a few of their regular games and went to 2 playoff games. It was amazing and electric.
What'll be missed most is the celebrations and the great spirit. Everywhere you went, HONK HONK, GO FLAMES GO, etc.
Sure there was controversy during the games but, TB played an excellent series.

The Red Mile was a riot tonight, a lot of fights and the usual boobs.
hahaha it was great to see the boobs but the fights were not needed.

Time to prepare for the World Cup of Hockey. I LOVE hockey.
I'm so disappointed right now though.

Losing is not new to me. I had to endure a lot of defeats in my life, especially in High School. I hated losing.

damn calgary what happend!!!1

ahh yes losing sucks much dick, and to anyone thats ever played the game... losing a hockey game or a championship is horrible... its hard to say that calgary was playing "well" they just lost their edge after that first goal... good effort but they were clearly having an off day imo...

well theres always next year right?

I hope so.

I hope Calgary makes the playoffs unlike Anaheim and Carolina.
I hope this is the beginning of a new dynasty for Calgary.
I hope the NHL and the NHLPA come to an agreement before the start of the 04-05 season.

there is a chance that the players may go on strike for the next year or 2.

i thought that was supposed to happen like last year or something

Posted by halexander837 on Jun-09-2004 20:01:

I hope hockey is played in October.

I can't just have two sports going on at the same time.

Football and Baseball.

I need Hockey included.

Posted by Godsound on Jun-10-2004 09:26:

nope the NHL and NHLPA contract is over now.
it ended at the end of this season so now they need a new contract, and reps are said that there'll be a 90% of a lockout and it could possibly last up to 2 years..... which would TOTALLY DAMAGE the NHL.
even a lockout for a little bit will CRUSH the nhl.

Well.... hockey will ALWAYS be strong in Canada but, lets face it. It's the American's that are important in the NHL. Sports need to be strong in America for it to survive, there is no way Canada can hold the NHL because of the currency.

It's great to see some American support for hockey though.
We need more support from you Americans.

Ex: Tampa Bay Stanley Cup celebration drew a crowd of an estimated 20,000 people.
Calgary Player Appreciation celebration drew a crowd of 30,000 people.

WE WON THE CUP!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!! good series though Calgary,... the cup is in my home city,..!! that was a great game,....sucks not having internet until today to spread the love with all you Tampa fans,..er wait Calgary fans on here

Posted by PhloTron on Jun-14-2004 06:29:

Funny to hear that the Fan Appreciation rally had as many or more people show up than at the Cup parade in Tampa...oh well

Also an interesting note: ESPN started their SportsCenter HD broadcasts last week and in the intro where they show an exciting snipet of most sports, it's a flames goal (w/ the horn)...vice say a tampa or U.S. market hockey bit. I'm never paying attention too well but it looks like either Marty or Robyn in full playoff form (beard)...gonna have to pay attention tomorrow during the beginning of the show....[edit] so i watcthed...it's Chris Clark...werd [/edit]

Just goes to show that a lot of us down here were pulling for the big C. either that or the TSN boys were doing the editing on the intro

Alas...I'm guessing all fans of hockey are hoping that they will play next year.
