again. iraq has no ties to al-qaeda whatsoever. one of the MANY untruths that bush would like u to believe

by terror regime, i did not mean al-qaeda. i meant saddam's regime, which used terror as means of political legitimacy. the attrocities that they put on the people of iraq were countless.

ask yourself, were they the legitimate government because the people were too scared shitless to say otherwise?

they were not legitimate, and they needed to go down.

the US made it happen.

actually most people in other countries are MUCH more savvy when it comes to world affairs than americans. I would know that as I have lived in and visited countless countries.

that's not true. many people in other countries have views that are just as biased and false as american views. what is true is the public education system in the US is far behind that of most other developed nations.

yes and yes on both points.

and actually the world WOULD be a better place if people left their small town and cities in the US. maybe if the people of the most advanced and powerful country knew what the hell was going on in the world, things would be different. But your average american is a dumb hick that only cares about his local town news.

Do you all really believe Bush is solely responsible for the war in Iraq??

what are you basing this on? have you done a study, or do you work in statistics?

by making such generalizations, you are the dumb one

Did i say every american? please point that out.

Secondly i can make this observation because I've talked to countless people on the subject of politics, especialy on international affairs. These people aren't my age (17-18). I'm talkin about people in their 30's and 40's, people you'd expect to be a little more educated. Most of these people think that Allah is a totally seperate deity and are amazed to learn that Allah is just the arabic word for god. Yes, I believe that most Americans have no clue what is happening in the world. Do you honestly find it surprising that only 11% of polled 18-25 yr olds knew where Iraq and Afghanistan are in the world?

Posted by stevebutabi on May-31-2004 20:13:

ah

there is no question that the average american is, indeed, not well educated in international affairs.

you don't need a study to affirm that.

however, that does not make them 'dumb'

I'm sorry if I take offense in someone calling my people dumb, 'bitch'.

all i'm saying is that I wasn't calling americans stupid as in IQ deficient.

Posted by stevebutabi on May-31-2004 20:40:

ok i gotcha man...

it's just that there are some people at my school that really piss me off throwing around statements like 'americans are so dumb'

i know what you're saying

/sigh...

ok, terror regime that affects the iraqi people, granted. but does this mean that the US should go into every country whose government uses terror tactics to keep their citizens in check? take the chinese for example. their citizens have had many of their basic rights straitjacketed by the communist government for almost 60 years now. does that entitle the US government to invade? no. the chinese government has violated basic human rights stuff, and have scared some of their citizens shitless. granted, some have outlets to voice their opinions and concerns but on the whole u do hear stories about chinese dissidents, etc etc..... i guess it's a similar parallel to iraq but not quite so.

this'll sound cruel, but if saddam's gov't wasn't affecting me directly, i wouldn't have given two shits about him in iraq. al-qaeda was the more pressing matter at this time last year but the government was distracted by the "threat" that was iraq. cuz that's what the war really was (supposed to be) about. i'm sure the POTUS came up with the whole liberation of the iraqi people well after. just my thoughts.

Gerhard Schrder is the prime minister of Germany,
and he basicly runs the country.
German president is Horst Khler however due to German politics system he doesn't have such powers as for example the US president.
Same case in UK, Spain, Austria, etc., many countries.

I heard a radio interview a while back with Chucklenuts' prof from Harvard Business School.

He said that shrubula threw spitballs at his classmates, and he was 27 at the time.

He also hated poor people, and thought they were too lazy.

He gave him "gentlemen's C's" to be kind.
