Monkey Dancer 2 First DJ's of the World.

Some Reaalll FACTS!

Britains First DJ - Christopher Stone (1927, BBC Radio)

Very First Record played by a DJ "Clara Butt - Handels Largo"

First use of the word "DJ" was in the Variety Magazine on August 13th of 1941, in the statement ".....Gilbert is a disc jockey, who sings with his records"

DJ'ing is the only profession where the job was already automated. Yep, the first Juke Box was out for production in 1891 "Edison Automatic Phonograph".

THE FIRST MODERN DJ (NOT JUST FADE IN/OUT, BUT TO MIX 2 RECORDS) WAS FRANCIS GRASSO IN 1968 IN NEW YORK AT "SALVATION TOO"

First DJ to Invent the Modern Club-Land experinece DAVID MANCUSO AT THE "LOFT" in New York.

OK, ma dead sleepy....goin off too bed.....

cheers.

maybe we could post our top 5 top Dj threads?

anyway, a serious answer, but jst so you know, i am more into progressive these days (i feel very special since i am almost the only one ) not so much of a top DJ list as a good tunes list.

--- james holden (check horizons and nothing maybe)
--- leama & moor (check remixes of brian eno - an ending ascent and gill norris - forme)
--- luke chable (melburn and lo-step - burma)
--- Kosmas Epsilon (try Innocent Thoughts and his remix of the beloved - sweet harmony)
--- John Con Vs Nikola Gala Ft Perasma - Swing 2 Harmony

Confused Sighs****

www.djmag.com

This one is pretty much the OFFICIAL way to tell who the best DJ is. The ones u guys mentioned sucked last time anyhow.

Don't agree with me????.... HAve a look at the list. I voted for Tiesto 3 times. PVD 2 times. and Avb Once.

Next Poll, I doubt Tiesto will be there as no.1 again. In fact, the top 5 have been at the top of this poll for a long time. But next time, I'm expecting huge changes. Just like there was a huge transition during 1999, I think the trance scene is going through another big change.... maybe people in the future will say... "progressive tunes of 2004's sweetness. " It's already common to hear: "climaxes of 1999 proportions" .

I Noticed that a lot of the names u guys mentioned aren't DJs!!!! they're groups!!!!!! DJs are DIFFEERENT.

European DJs are always trying to get into the american scene. Problem is, USA aren't as spoilt as the Europeans when it comes to DJs coming around. SO they end up voting for DJs like Bad Boy Bill. Which gloablly, aren't really popular.

BUt then again... maybe they just have different tastes.

So there u go....
