jason jenkins played from about 9-10 and Lance Cashion kicked him out and played until oakenfold came on. for some reason it was hotter than when zabiela played.

Yeah that lighting guys thinks he's the shit, always trying to eye up chicks and shit, bit of a geek eh? How was Cashion? And thanks man

Actually, Liquid Todd spun for an hour and half before Oakey took to the decks at 12:30, spun a massive 2 hour set. He was having an awesome time, got my Drivers License autographed, got a flyer autographed by Oakey and one by Liquid Todd. My friend Skye got 2 T-shirts autographed by Oakey, one visor autographed by Oakey and LT, a Great Wall poster autographed that they had advertised in the club by Oakey, ticket stub, as well as Perfecto Presents Another World CD2 autographed by Oakey. It was a blast. Oakey definately was messing with the sounds during the show. He dropped some remix as the last song that was a mesh of Born Slippy with an 80's song as the lyrics, I was to up to remember a tracklist for this time. But I do remember him dropping a George Michael song, or maybe that was LT that dropped it.

Igor S - Boomerang (Igor S Mix)
4 Strings - Turn It Around (Sander van Doorn Vocal Remix)
U2 - Beautiful Day (Unknown Remix)
John 00 Flemming - I'm Not Fooled (JF Sebastian Mix)
Benny Benassi Presents the Biz- Love is Gonna Save Us
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Gabriel and Dresden Unplugged Mix)
Dj Tiesto - Traffic
Stel and Good Newz - Particle (Nick and John Dalagelis Mix)
Markus Schulz Presents Elevation - Clear Blue
Peter Martin presents Anthanasia - Perfect wave (Cheese in a can Dub)

When Oakey dropped Traffic, I swear, the whole dancefloor went nuts. I know I sure did at that point. Got to chat with Oakey at his tour bus after the show, that is when Skye got her autographs for the 2nd T shirt that she tried to get him to autograph in Phoenix. She told him the story about how he blew her off in Phoenix when she wanted her shirt autographed and of course he appologized and gave her the autograph on the shirt finally. Got the chance to go to an afterparty with LT, but that fell through as we were too messed up for that. All in all, it was a rocking show. The only negatives were that it was a tad bit HOT in there, and there were no signature Perfecto visuals at the event.

And, I just saw on the pauloakenfold.com site, they are using something called "Freefloaters" for the tour. Don't have a clue as to WTF they mean by that, but that would explain why no one was suppossed to be so close to Oakey during his show.

the guy who runs the lights is actually a nice guy, just a bit quiet. (and it is not because I am a girl... I am always there with my husband ) and from what I have seen, it's usually the girls trying to be cool and get behind the booth... just my perspective.

How were Lance and Jason's sets? We were flying home from San Francisco Sunday and weren't able to go

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-18-2004 17:18:

heh. lance kicked jason off EARLY. jason played from like 9-10 (IF that long). jason was a really cool guy. lance spun his usual stuff (not sure what it's classified has....some kind of techno/house maybe?). he had some people on the dance floor.

my only problem with the guy that does the lights is that he lied to me and said HE was the resident DJ there (this was when I was asking how one gets involved in the lineup). being that i've been to skyvue on many an occasion i knew he was lying.

you should come out to nuno's on friday's petersdjgirl. it was actually pretty jumping (for nuno's) this past friday.

the lighting guy is this geek with glasses whos usually on an acid trip right

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-18-2004 20:33:

hahahah I dunno about being on acid, but yeah that's the guy.. and to me he comes across as a cocky kinda guy, what reason he has to be cocky I have no idea.

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-19-2004 23:37:

Dunno

i'm still trying to figure out why he lied to me about being the resident dj lol.

Posted by DJ Hoyt on Jul-21-2004 04:14:

Why is Paul Oakenfold posted on TA? He's not trance anymore... he used to be back in the Tranceport days, but those days are dead!

Posted by DeviantxPete on Jul-21-2004 04:28:

Prog and tech trance is still trance nonetheless.

Posted by The_One on Jul-21-2004 04:31:

We here @ TA listen to various genres of EDM not just trance but you still find DIEHARD Trance heads here too.

Posted by DJ Hoyt on Jul-21-2004 05:17:

I'm sorry... it just seems more like house and plain progressive to me. Maybe I'm not hearing the right sets.

Posted by zenbudda on Jul-21-2004 05:35:

tiesto - traffic

prog or uplifting?

he played that @ skyvue. but that was just one track.

Posted by DJ Hoyt on Jul-21-2004 05:42:

I liked hearing that track played by Tiesto himself

Hard to classify, same as Flight 643. Trancey elements are present but few. More of a techno atmosphere throughout, but then it's also far from techno. If you wanted to truly classify it, maybe tech-trance.

Posted by civicstyle on Aug-04-2004 21:00:

He also played

U2 - Ultraviolet(Unknown remix)

Zenbudda,

Some clarification here. I did not play at all at the Oakey show at Sky... Liquid Todd played after Jenkins. (Todd is bald as well).

Also in regards to bookings at Sky... Todd Burgener and Slow Motion Music handle the bookings. We also work with Disco Productions from NOLA. Craig has nothing to do w/ bookings at Sky (except for Thomas Penton a few months ago).

I would like to thank you alll for your support... Please feel free to PM me with any comments or questions. Just trying to keep some solid talent coming thru Austin along with some great local and regional talent.

All the best!

ps. Quivver 8/27 and PVD on 10/22

Thanks you very much... It was fun. Anything good going on in SA on the progressive tip?

wow. first of all, my greatest apologies. i could really slap one of my friends right now. 1. i thought the guy in the dj booth was lance cashion simply because he has no hair. 2. one of my "closer" friends there said it was you in the booth. plus, didn't someone else come on right before oakie and spin for like 30 mins? i'm wayy confused, but by the time oakie came on i had a big buzz going on. anyway, my greatest apologies. i've heard you play before (even before tiesto) and i really enjoyed your jams. now i really feel like a bonehead. lol.

Posted by Slow Motion on Aug-22-2004 14:59:

No worries mang... totally cool. Just don't want people thinking I'm some sort of dickhead *only when I'm REALLY drunk*

I hope you had a good time at the event....

If you see me at Sky, please stop by and say hello I should be playing there more in the near future...

take care brother
