This is turning out to be VERY nice. I'll try to supply whatever else may be needed. There's an HEB not far so we can make a food trip. Once things get more concrete, we do need to have everyone interested in playing submit a private message to Mike (Feuhrer). Man, I'm getting all giddy like a schoolgirl!

i'm in austin and i don't mind the drive. i'll need a date and time in advance though if i'm going to plan on doing anything.

Werd, there is an HEB not even 5 minutes away from my house, and a gas station a block up!

All DJs who would be willing to spin let me know ASAP! So I can guesstimate what time we may need to start and shut down! My parents are all for having it here, so if everyone is down we can do it on a Saturday or Friday. Let me know when is convienient for everyone. As in date and time. Our plans on a gig this weekend sunk, so we are free, but may need a bit more time, maybe a week or 2. I have a table wide enough for a cdj, but what I may do is grab some flat boards to extend it a bit to be able to fit 2 cdjs. I also have the turntables and mixer handled, we will be using a DJM-600 and 2 SL1210-Mk2s.

Let us start making a list of food people are gonna bring so we know not to bring too much of one thing so we can get various things! is anyone down for grabbing a huge bag of charcoal? let me know!

did ya set a day yet?

Idea

Hey guys, my parents wanted to know if people who come can contribute to a fund to get them out of the house, my mother's words. They will chill for a bit, but do not want to be in the way, so if you guys want to bring a couple of bucks so they can have money to go out and watch a movie or chill out in town let me know.

As far as things needed this is what we NEED for people to eat on and frink from:

Charcoal (2 large bags)
Charcoal Lighter Fluid (2 large canisters)
Plastic/Paper Plates (prefer plastic)
Plastic/Paper Cups (plastic prefered)
Plastic-wares (forks, knives, spoons)
Paper Towels/napkins
aluminum foil
plastic wrap
meats (steaks, beef, chicken, turkey, whatever!...coughcoughskunkcoughcough)
4 large bags of ice
Drinks (go to Sams, Wal-Mart, HEB, they have steals on drinks like gatorade, jucies, sodas, you name it!)
Chips
Bread
Ketchup (or Katsup, whatever you say tomato tamato, all the same lol)
If you have folding/portable chairs bring them, will help alot!
Mayonaise
Mustard
A-1- gotta have this! YUMMIE!
Any sides of your choosing or making!
BBQ sauce(s)
any coolers to store sodas or anything that needs to be on ice (may be loaning out our extra refridgerator...
any portable tables you may have so more people can eat outside, or on a sturdy surface rather than on thier legs hah)

Anything else you can think of let me know, I need all the help I can get!

Thanks,
~Mike M.

Jesus Christ this is getting complicated! Can't we just set a date and time, get a rough idea of who's spinning but don't restrict ourselves, and then organise a rough idea of who wants to bring what to eat and drink... I'm all for a laid back get together but organising so much detail will only mean dissapointment when it doesn't go exactly to plan. Let's just get together, spin, eat and sink some piss! (sink some piss = drink)

EDIT: and if it's gonna be any trouble at all for your parents, that's cool, as Andres (Ibiza_Dreams) said he has his own place as of recently

You kidding right.... pay your folks to leave the house.

Keep it simple. Just have people bring whatever they are going to bring be it food, drinks, or whatever.

Not everyone is going to bring all the stuff on that list. Just bring choons, meat, junk food, and drinks. Oh and all the plastic untinsils and stuff like that. IMO the host of this get together should buy the charcoal, charcoal fluid and all the essentials for the BBQ.

Posted by D Dubya on Jun-14-2004 19:56:

Honestly I don't mind throwing around 40-50 bucks to buy whatever we need, but I also need to know a solid date and time. I have to plan this out in my head. Leaving work is not a problem, staying in kerrville isn't a problem, working around my schedule and stuff I have committed to is....

Posted by zenbudda on Jun-14-2004 21:07:

yeah i will go ahead and repeat my statement earlier. i can't plan squat unless i have a date and a time.

Posted by DJ_Octane on Jun-14-2004 21:38:

I think we should do the 2nd weekend in August. The 13th or 14th. Reason why is that it will give those time to get the day off and also, most people get paid that weekend. This month is kinda hectic with Armin this weekend and such. I can't make it at the end of the month cause I'm taking my girl out of town. I'll also have more money at that time so I can make sure we have what we need.

As long as everyone brings something, we'll be cool. Like I said, we can always go get what we forgot. Is that cool with everyone?

Posted by D Dubya on Jun-14-2004 22:21:

Octane, I'm with you.... August would be a good time. I have to do a job later August, but the middle should work out just perfect. Nothing wrong with planning way in advance. The people that have jobs really need this kind of foresight.

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jun-14-2004 23:00:

Planning that far ahead is understandable as some of you guys said, though I'm willing to do this on pretty much any upcoming weekend. Anyway, I just want to emphasize that I don't want to be spending $40-$50 because it simply is not needed. If everyone just brings $10 worth of food and a sixpack each, and brings themselves, we'll be set. Of course throw-away plates and cups would be neccessary if we had a lot of people, but if only 10 of us turn up then fuck, I'm happy to wash dishes. First things first, we need to be sure about the place, be it Mike's or Andres', and then we all need to post what dates are good for them.

Posted by DJ_Octane on Jun-15-2004 01:07:

I can put in maybe 20 tops. times is ruff on a trance pimp these days.

Posted by Feuhrer on Jun-15-2004 05:56:

I'm down with what Dave said. I think I can get my parents out of the house, and they really don't mind having it here. I made the list because I always want to be more prepared than less. Military habit that I have retained (6 P's: Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance)!

So let's start talkin about who wants to spin, so we have an estimate of who wants to so we can make it worth everyones while and no one gets yanked. I hate the feeling of showing up and not being able to play, kinda makes ya feel bad. So, the sooner we get a list of DJs who want to spin, the better planned out the night can be. I just want to make sure not to make it a 12 hour party and have like 4 DJs or something. And we can't make it too late, because we have some tichy bitchy neighbors sometimes, even though they are louder than us on a daily basis
