That's exactly the reason that they should continue running. No one knows what the future will be like. If there is a group of people interested in something, then if they have a democratic party to support that interest, then that is their right.

If a party appeared that wanted seperatism for BC or Alberta, I think there'd be less of an uproar. My impression is that people make hits/comments on Quebec more than other provinces in the country.

it would be funny that either the conservatives or liberals seek an alliance from the bloc to get into power... thats a possible scenario.

I guess all those votes aren't useless

ya, ure votes totally count this time round.
Hey did u know 90% of canada failed to watch the english debate. thats insane if u ask me.
whats the percent of ppl voting here anyways?

and yes a union with the bloc is possible(but not likely), seeing as bloc as already stated that if the conservatives want to jump in bed with them the going rate is:
-Dont fuck with quebec aero-space industry
-Dont fuck with abortion
-Dont fuck with Kyoto

So its gonna be a mighty hard pill for conservatives to swallow
Wouldnt mind seeing a liberal/NDP minority union
but my vote is still for NDP

serge, thanks for the links
its kinda hard to follow all this stuff being far outside the country but i decided to go ahead and vote, even made the extra effort to send off a registration form last week, hope i can send my vote in on time

i don't know what exactly is happening with the candidates, but from how it seems ndp has a decent platform, conservatives are a tad too conservative for this country and liberals, well they are just fcked up, plus i don't like martin's face

as for bloc, i respect their persistency very much. it takes a lot of guts to stand up for a cause against the whole country. does not necessarily mean i agree with their cause, but having lived in quebec for a few years i see their side of the opinion and even tho it may be slightly radical, it is their opinion to express and this country does not forbid such actions.

most the politicians are fcked up so its difficult to say which one is better than the others, but hopefully the country will elect the lesser of all evils

Honestly, I think more celebrities should run for PM. I mean, really..who would you rather vote for? Stephen Harper, or Ron McClean (spelling?) from CBC. Hehe, I'd vote for RON! Don Cherry can be his right hand man and Minster of Hockey. Hehe

neither, both dont know how to run a government

yes, i noticed that Harper is not the man for the job, unfortunatly, there's a good chance he'll make it.

Posted by overdose006 on Jun-24-2004 23:25:

there is certainly a chance he will make it(ie majority)
i would be surprised if he formed a minority govt. I suspect if neither the liberals or conservatives get enough seats for a majority, the liberals could form govt with the NDP.
There is no chance in hell that conservatives and NDP would hook up, but its possible they meld with the bloc. Certainly going to be an exciting election this time round, for a change. I hope all canadians reading this are gonna vote. I also heard on CBC radio that there was a 60% jump in the number of ppl voting with the early/out of town ballot.
I think that says alot for how important this election really is.

I believe this election means more to the future of Canada than any other election in our history.
