i totally agree with slyfox
by the way when i saw her in
the dance floor the following
idea occured to me:
"if i were the owner of crobar
right i would tell sasha to
leave and replace him with
slyfox for some real mixing
and engaging edm"

I already posted in another thread, but I figured I'd add my 2 cents in here as well:
It was my first time at Crobar, and I have to agree with Pyro in that I was immediately remined of TGI Friday's or freakin Friendly's....the club obviously wants to draw a "mix" of a crowd including tourists, and general party-heads....I over-heard the bouncer at the door telling someon on line "The cover tonight is $40 because there's some weird popular dj from Europe here." Uhh..this just pisses me off, but I guess thats the state of EM in NY...not many people care for it...
But anyway, I thought the actual system was decent...some places on the dancefloor the highs were annoying loud and clashy..but I actualyl thought the sound was crisp in the "loungier" areas of the club (also cooler as well). OVerall, Sasha' set was very good IMO, and I believe he did use pre-mixed songs a few times during the night, and he did have more abrupt mixes than usual...but I enjoyed myself...and thats all i Asked for...
He did tear it up at Sonar. 2.5 hours of just awesome beats. He did all his mixing live too...
sasha owned it at sonar
I think the night was awesome. He may have been turning around to drink, smoke or something else. If he was only using cds he could have put them on the tt that fair used, so he wouldn't need to turn around that much.
As far as the headphones, I find the better the dj the less they have to use headphones. He's been playing for 15 years people, he knows how to beatmatch really quickly he doesn't need to use them that much, and frankly there were a couple mixes where he even kept them on to make the mixes really good. Some of his mixes were amazing imo.
PVD has his headphones on maybe 10% of the time....he mixes well, it's all experiance guys.
I agree with bobby I wish everyone would stop being a critic, his set was awesome, it may not have been what he did a few years ago, but can anyone name a dj (besides dt) who is better now than they were 3 years ago?? I can't. He doesn't need to try as hard, but he def did some really creative mixing imo.
He did his job ran a big room really well anyone here think they can do better??

Did I mention there was a HUGE mirror door behind him, you can see everything. I know what I saw.
