But Czech Republic - Holland made up for that

You seriously mean to say the Dutch aren't playing better than the Germans right now?

Your obvious dislike of the Dutch is really clouding your mind.

Holland definitely has some great players and every time Robben has the ball on the left you have a feeling he is going to do something with it. Davids is like a powerhouse in the middle and they have such a talented sub bench. I always enjoy watching Holland play. Hope they win it.

holland has way better offensive skills than the german, but if you're talking about ball control, defensive and midfield play, then obviously the German were better.

The german need to find the right players in front, its not even funny how their offense were poor. You can't win game with your defense and a great goalie

maybe your brain is clouded because you support holland so much

Posted by noikeee on Jun-27-2004 00:08:

germany + nistelrooy = a team capable of winning the cup

kuranyi was one of the players that disappointed me the most this time

i think germany and holland are pretty much on the same level nowadays, but with different strong areas on their play

stfu

And yeah, the Germans really got a great defense + midfield. That's why they lost 1-2 to the B team of the Czechs. Ballack is good though.

HOLLAND HOLLAND HOLLAND!!

the only reason they lost is because they couldn't find the net, i'm telling you there's no offense in that team....

KURANYI

Yeah but if their defense + midfield was that great they wouldn't have conceded two goals from a B team

But yeah, the Germans lack some good strikers. Just like England before Rooney came along.

its obvious you didn't watch the game.

one goal was from a foul kick, unfucking possible to stop. it was just perfect.

and the other was a nice run by Baros who took the German defense off guard because everyone was on the offense. good goal tho.

the full game is on the bit torrent network if you ever feel like getting it.

Alright, you got me there

I hadn't kept in mind how those goals were scored.

1-0 for the forum hooligan

I miss Spain too! So much potential, such a useless waste of talent. Now that them and England are out, COME ON HOLLAND! Just hope they don't crash out cause of Portugal again. ROBBEN IS A GENIUS!

Is it just me or does anyone else think MALEK is a jaded fuckhead whos opinions count for shit?

What crack have you been smoking Malek?

This tournament has been awesome!!!! Many unexpected surprises, some awesome goals, brilliant match-ups, last minute equalisers and winners, England losing to France 2-1 , unexpected winners, some disappointing exits from big name teams....what more do you want?

I have probably watched about 50% of the games live, and thats saying something when they start at 2am or 4:45 am (more recently) and i have uni exams on. It has just been too good to miss.

ffs you're dutch.. don't use the word 'soccer'

It's football! Only clueless Americans call it soccer.

Posted by A.J. on Jun-27-2004 12:20:

People in Australia call it soccer ( ), although i have started calling it football and i am trying to personally start a trend where people call it football, not soccer.

come on dude, the French gameplay from this year is a fucking joke, ze Germans have the worst selection of players in decades. The only thing the English team can do is play offensive for 5 minutes, score a goal and then they play defense for the rest of the match. Italy didn't create one decent goal scoring opportunity this tournament. And Spain never play a good tournament

and so on...

And I can say that I think that the Dutch team is better then the teams mentioned above. We have van Nistelrooij and Robben (and Makaay), the best offense in Europe in this moment. We have a very good midfield with Davids and Seedorf (who didn't play very good yesterday), our only problem is our defense, we do have Jaap Stam but for the rest it isn't all that good. But what's best about our team is that we have awsome players sitting on the bench. We have Sneijder, van der Vaart, Makaaij, Heitinga etc...) All very good players.

So I think we deserve to be in this semi-final

Don't really agree with this. They were a lot stronger than Greece and Russia but simply lacked a good striker that could score.. Ral was really out of shape. That right winger Joaquin was playing some awesome matches though. And vs. Portugul they were simply unlucky imo.

ok, let me refrase this

Spain is always one of the favorites but they never come as far as everyone thought they would be

I think this has been a great tournament so far. A lot of great games and few bad ones. A bunch of incredible goals. Owen against Portugal, Larsson against Bulgaria, Baros against Holland and Denmark, van Nistelrooy against Germany, Zlatan against Italy, Tomasson against

World Cup 2002. THAT was the worst tournament ever.

I'm perfectly happy with the teams in the 1/2 finals !!!

My favourite teams in desc. order are/were Portugal, Holland, Spain, Tcheks

Only Spain not reaching it...

I'ld would have loved a final Portugal - Holland. Now it's a 1/2 final Good in the sense that one of both is in the final
