exactly. phones have an off button, wether the person uses it during a screening of a film or not is up to them.

Yeah... I agree with Nell and UWM. It's just like cars: used correctly, they're fine, but some people manage to turn them into the most annoying thing ever

Gotta love people that have annoying ring tones set to maximum volume. People that talk loud enough for the people down the street to hear them. Having problems hearing or speaking...get a new phone! I hate it when people don't turn their ringers off in movies, restaurants, meetings, or hell even during interviews. I had a guy come in for an interview today and his phone rang three different times. Loud as hell obnoxious ring tones...one being a clip from South Park. I actually had to ask the guy to either turn his phone to vibrate or to turn it off completely. WTF?
I don't have a home phone so my cell phone is my phone, but when I leave my house that thing gets switched over to vibrate.
