i like house a lot, but i think it's kind of on its way to a horrible commercialization kind of like trance has had with dj sammy and all that shit.

this just proves my theory. once p-diddy gets involved overplayed, watered-down house is inevitable.

I hate the way that the US hip hop culture has started to influence the world instead of just the US. I like hip hop but i still find so much more of a passion for trance and house and a lot of the dance music in general. I was hopin that by the time i turn 18 (1 yr 2months from now) i would be able to go to ibiza and hear all this music i have such a passion for, but from what i just read it sounds like by the time i get over there i'll hear a lot of the same overplayed crap Im forced to listen to here. Every time i thought of Europe i would think of turnin on the radio and just listen to some bangin dance music, but with the "americanization" of the world it seems that im going to be hearing the same old things. When an american goes to europe, they see everything thats wrong with the US (a lot of things) but it just wont be the same anymore if this hip hop top 40 trend keeps spreading. The dance music is suppose to spread from europe to the US. I remember sitting in my Marketing class and lettin this one kid listen to what i think was my PvD CD that I had in my CD player and the first thing he say was, "thats the most repetitive crap I have ever heard." He listened to about 7 seconds of it. He then pulled out his CD player let me listen to it. It was some various hiphop CD, and he said, "thats how music is supposed to sound." This blows. If ibiza ends up like all the Top40 clubs in the US they will just be throwing themselves in a pile of shit. WE HAVE TO FIGHT THIS, AND BRING DANCE MUSIC BACK TO IBIZA(assuming it gets taken over) AND BACK INTO THE HANDS OF ALL THE NIAVE LITTLE SHITS THAT ARENT WILLING TO LISTEN ANYTHING BUT LIL JON AND YOUNGBLOODZ. this is pathetic...

If anything, the "hip hop" culture just helps to push the other genres out of the limelight. That's where most music seems to thrive, at least in my experience. I'd hate for trance/progressive/house to become mainstream across the globe. The quality would deteriorate before our ears. Guaranteed.

I agree.

The more commercial trance becomes, the more crap that will get released. However, this doesn't mean there won't still be quality tunes, but they may become harder to find.
