Hell yea, I went to a show a few years back at the HOB here in Orlando.

Honestly.... no!

But then again, no one would recognize me a few years ago. and I still somehow get into mosh pits without meaning to. Those kids at Orgy a few months ago were mean! Made me feel pretty old.

Most new punk rock bands suck. Punk just isnt what it used to be. Try some older stuff by MxPx and The Offspring.

Some of the best punk bands i've heard are the local bands that just dont give a fuck about anything and really play their music becuase they love it.

Some punk bands that have "made" it, but still retain that "FUCK YOU" attitude that i like are:

The Casualties
Op Ivy
Black Flag
The Misfits
The Sex Pistols

definitely go for the older stuff. their new shit is just that. shit. try anything by Dropkick Murphys for the good old Boston punk, the real shit. I went to a show of their about 3 years ago, absolutely mindblowing. Also try flogging molly, AFI's older stuff, the Ataris, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, umm...Dont listen to tht EMO bullshit like OLP and New Found Glory. I'll think up some other names soon.

I like Mike McCoglan singing better then Al Barr. You're lucky you were able to see DM when they still had Mike....

There was this big black dude probably about 400 lbs vs 225 me vs all the kids in the mosh pit. The black guy was IMPOSSIBLE to move!!! He'd just shrug me off like it was dirt on his shoulder.

I'm dieing to know what did you look like a few years ago?

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jun-29-2004 06:41:

Hmm punk eh?

Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster
Splodgenessabounds - Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps Please
Stiff Little Fingers - Suspect Device
some tune by Trashcan Darlings that I can't remember the title of right now
Dropkick Murphys - Time To Go
Mclusky - Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues

My favorite Ska band is Streetlight Manifesto.

Try any of there songs, of their cd. They are all good.

For punk try either album by Brand New.

My Favorite Weapon is their first album and very punk-pop.

Their second album is Deja Entendu and is much more mature sounding and leans toward rock. It is definately one of all time favorite albums though.

I like hardcore punk. I've been listening to a lot of Reagan Youth, xJUDGEx, Youth of Today, and Los Crudos lately.

Also the Misfits. They aren't hardcore, though.

Have you ever heard Naked Raygun's cover?

Speaking of Raygun, if you want some epic punk, listen to "Soldier's Requiem" and "Walk in Cold" by Naked Raygun.

The guy that posted above me has good taste!

I used to be a huge Punk Rock fan - i went to lots of concerts and the Vans Warped Tour a couple of times. My favourite memory was probably the massive circle at Vans Warped Tour '99 in Sydney when Pennywise were playing. The circle was about 50m across, and it went all around the control tent that was in the middle of the area in front of the stage. Crazy!

My favourite bands included Guttermouth, Pennywise, NOFX, Millencolin, Frenzal Rhomb, Toe To Toe , Unwritten Law, The Living End, Bodyjar and Grindspoon.

P.S. I wouldn't really call Blink 182, Good Charlotte etc punk.

Posted by A.J. on Jun-29-2004 07:51:

And here are some favourite songs:

Pennywise - Bro Hymn
Pennywise - Society
Pennywise - Homesickness
NOFX - Bob
NOFX - Don't Call Me White
Millencolin - Penguins & Polar Bears

ah stuff it, i can't be bothered with anymore....

P.S. Fat Records rules!!!!!

How you gonna leave out The Clash! I am currently kinda getting into Franz Ferdinand, The Von bondies, and Yellowcard. Yes, I know, I am ashamed.
