It actually is quite safe, and is as safe as acid or shrooms, though not quite as safe as pot because some idiots either drink too little (less than two litres) and dehydrate, or drink too much (over 20 litres, in which case their brain swells up and they die). Look it up on www.erowid.org if you want to research it more to make sure it is safe.

Also, it was just moved to Schedule III by the US government, which means it is open for medical testing, another indication of how much the "side-effects" of E have been overblown by the media.

Safe to an extent, its still a drug, and ive still seen it fuck up someones life...

Any acid tracks, or anything with a 303 in.

Indeed, having a friend who can't live without E is such a heart-wrenching experience, its so bad when they are without pills and can't be happy no matter how hard they and you try. Its such an incredibly sad thing to see someone go through and its even worse knowing you can't make it better for them. All you can do is make them put up with the agony until it goes away. PLEASE don't let your life revolve around rolls, don't let it control you and dont become dependent, you and your friends will be so much happier.

Moderation is key to anything, like so many people have said before, know your limits and know yourself and think about what your doing.

now BTTfriggin'T!

chicane - soothe
Pure bliss when that jingling melody kicks in and your lying on a nice couch with your girl rubbing her down and shes just puuuuuurrrrrrrrrring, while she does the same to you. Everyone should try it at least once, it will change yer life

Motorcycle - ATRC
Maybe u should wait a couple years before trying this one to acheive its full effect, but you can seriously feel a rush coming if you know your body well enough to know when to listen to this song.

The fantastic 4(PvD, Armin, Teisto, Ferry) and many others can tell when they are playing for a crowd that is full of rolling kids. When they notice they will choose their tracks accordingly. When you hear em broadcasted live from clubs you can almost tell how much of the crowd is on something by the way they sound. When PvD came to a club in my area everyone got fucked up beyond belief, and he was dropping all those beatiful emotional tracks that everyone wanted to hear. I was in the front and I turned around and the WHOLE crowd behind me was sooooo fixated on that supersaw, everyone had that glazed over look on them. I took a picture but i lost the camera, best crowd shots I ever got too, sigh. But really, there is nothing like hearing some live trance in a crowd full of fucked up kids, even if your not high you can just feel it radiating off of everyone else and you will catch it too! Everyone was covered in sweat yet they all felt cold when they brushed up against me, smiles that you couldn't get off their faces even when u accidently elbowed them in their nose(oops). If you really wanna find good music to listen to while your on drugs go find a party where the DJ will be playing for alot of fucked up people, and make sure to get a good look at em all having fun while your out there.

If you are one of those people who enjoys getting rubbed by strangers at parties, just get in the center of the crowd(the part of the crowd that is dancing, NOT the cuddle-puddle off in the corner) Then you won't even care what your listening to cuz there will be cold wet flesh all over you. Especialy at the corwded places when a star is in town.

That used to be me, but I got a GF now so I don't care for feeling anyone elses touch so much anymore, nothing is as good as her.

Have fun!

Omg..just realized the mental addictivness of E. Reading that got me fucking worked up and now my heart is pumping like fuck and I'm twitching. No joke...

Motorcycle - ATRC

I feel that one. I might be weird, but I had a great time bouncing up and down and singing my head off to Andain - Beautiful things... Buddha Bar, for anyone in Shanghai...

Super Happy XTC Raver Magic Fun Time!

Posted by Zombie0915 on Jul-15-2004 23:19:

I don't find myself craving the pills themselves, but the situations in which I enjoyed them. There are a couple parties that I absolutely FIEND for. The ones where I had such a good time that I never wanted them to end. I hope I go somewhere like it when I'm dead But when I find myself longing for events passed, I have cd's I burned, which I made shortly after each party to remember some of the music I heard, I have you guys to talk all nostalgic with, and I have a chance that the next party I go to may be just as fun, if not better than that night. It isn't good to feel bad about parties that you aren't present for, weather they already happened or are happening somewhere you can't go to. It adds up really quickly and gets depressing pretty fast. I get over it pretty easily by just beleiving that I'll find another event that will be just as great as long as I keep looking for it, and I don't have much troule finding things to go to.

Ive had just as much fun without being on anything, and I never really got into drugs that much in the first place.

But the first time I rolled was insane for me too, I saw PvD and was like, sad as hell and all emotional and shit after it ended and my girl went home. Then 4 days later I go see armin and it owned the previous night. It was two crazy awesome parties in the same week. After it was over I thought things wouldnt ever be the same, and they kinda aren't.

I have no idea why im saying all this shit, wtf are we talkng about again?

when Armin dropped Push - Strange World (2000 remake)
here in perth for his 6 hour set.

Nothing like hearing your favourite tune being played by your favourite DJ.

E is fun. Too much of it sucks though.
There are certain moments in time where you can really enhance youe experience and bring out the full potential...

Exactly. THe vibe and energy that pours out of a crowd during a climax is unbelievable...you almost get high yourself even if you aren't on anything. That moment where the right track drops, the right key, and the right moment where the crowd is ready to explode, and you throw on something like 643 or any other track DESIGNED to get the kids riled up and take off is something EVERYBODY should experience, anti-drugs or not. It's a feeling of heaven, a true outta body experience. I remember when I first saw Tiesto live at Coachella 2002(mind you that I've never seen a fantastic 4 DJ live, and I've been spinning and listening to trance for 3 years before I saw Tijs, so you can only imagine the excitment I felt), my roll was peaking when he plopped on 643.
After that, I never looked back.

Good fucking times right there, this thread turned out suprisingly fun, muahahah.

I had a quite great time with the 2003 stuff that everyone is still pissed off at

u know the ones, holding onto nothing, time of our lives, good memories made while hearing that stuff.

Don't listen to bad music while rolling cuz u will like it then get pissed off at yourself for liking shit music. Listen to stuff u enjoy def, no matter how much u dont feel like getting up and turning off the shit that your playlist shuffled onto. Argh

Eveything said in this thead is so true. Your first experience will change the way you look at the world and especially music. Things never really arent the same (in a good way ) after the first experience. A lot of my friends refuse to take E (thinking its worse than coke) and a times it pisses me off cos they will never know or understand what I experienced..that intimiate feeling with the crowed and music and like john said, it truly is an outer body experience...

Anyways (tone change ), could somone recomend some real trippy sets created just for the rollers. I recentely d/l 'john '00' fleming's state of trance XXL radio brodcast (01-07-2003)' and omg its trippy..blew me away. Any more sets like this?

Posted by kron on Jul-16-2004 10:41:

another thing is, the less often you do e, the more fun it is next time you do it. if you do it too much, the tolerance build up too quickly, and you will find yourself high without a peak. well i suppose its the same for everything we do, the less often, the better. it's also better for your body anyway.

Posted by Zombie0915 on Jul-16-2004 11:57:

You might wanna try "The Shpongle Experience" If you haven't already.

Or ask some1 else for livesets, I dunno many trippy livesets

Danny Howels Essential mix(last year?)might not be trippy, but the way he seamlessly played all that music that was soooo diverse and different from each other was some craziness. I was just bored and turned on BBC and had no idea who the dude was and it suprised the hell out of me. That might be fun in an altered mindstate as well

When I roll I like to hear any variety of good trance music. Spun well, and preferably by a live DJ. I used to be very fickal about what i wanted to listen to and what i didnt want to listen to. I was constantly wanting to hear this song or that song right then or right now, fast fwding through live sets to get to certain tracks etc etc. Now i just kinda let it flow and focus more on the people around me...and touching their hair...ooooo so soft lol

E is what got me into EDM. I had listened to trance and techno before, but just with friends into it and I didn't really pay alot of attention to it. After the first time I did E i really wanted to listen to some more because it was amazing that night, so my friend said he would make a cd for me, but then he left the country so I didn't have a cd. Then I did it again and I was like screw this, Im listening to some trance, so I searched the whole internet, found this site, and now have like 10 albums bought in the last month and a half or so.

E is really amazing just chillin with friends as well though. Raves are nice, but just chilling and listening to music and talking makes for a great experience. People you don't even know become friends all of a sudden, and people you are good friends with become like brothers.

that other kid was right, anything

You hit the nail on the head about the supersaw! Its exactly like that for me to. That sound just does something to me when I'm on E. Can't really explain it but it looks like you know just what I mean.

One of my favorite tracks to listen to when I'm rolling would be

Heller and Farley - The Rising Sun (Bedrock Remix)

Gotta agree with you there . There's the rave experience with E but also the much overlooked chilling experince. You've never felt so happy and close with your friends as in that moment..its amazing. Can bring a friendship to a whole new level.

This is pretty much the reason why trance and E often are associated Ever tried rolling to progressive house..just isnt the same.

i rolled last night for j00f and astral projection

both were awesome, the psytrance was just..i dont even know..it was really really good

Posted by Absolut_Vodka on Jul-17-2004 22:22:

any song that has lots of layers or a 'deep' sound are nice to roll to...thats why trance and psy are so damn perfect...

Posted by davinox on Jul-17-2004 23:37:

i say, emotional, uplifting trance, like Push, Armin, Tiesto, Ferry.

for example: The Legacy, Adagio for Strings (Corsten)

I agree with As the Rush Comes too.
