All i can say is WOW. An amazing way to start of the summer party season. It was my first TA event since registering and becoming a little more active on the forums, and all the people that I met were really cool. I came to this with not the highest of hopes, and wondered how crazy it would actually be. Well lets just say ill never doubt Nu NRG again Not to mention the warmup acts were amazing too, i was happy the trance got some edge closer to Nu NRG's pa, i live for that banging stuff. Whew...i got home at 6 and still havnt slept even after being to work..*yawn*

AMMMMMMMMMMMMMAZING!

Well, what can I say? An incredible night beyond any doubt.

Dennis: Wicked set man! I found myself alone on the dance floor at beginning of the night, while they were setting up for Nu-NRG, but you really got the party going. I was up front, and turned around to see the crowd going like the main act was on. Awesome stuff man! Lots of great tunes (mmmm... Under the Sun). But is it just me, or does Introspection sound really weak in Viva. The lead synth sounds so toned down.... blah. Oh well, 10/10 to you sir.

Walter: You always do great work. Your first segment was a brilliant leadup to Nu-NRG... you put me in the right mood for rich, energetic, melodic trance. 10/10 to you. Sahara was awesome!

Nu-NRG: Whooooaaaaaa. Too bad about the hiuccup at the start. But we still love you. Everything you played was amazing and I had some kick ass moments in the middle of the floor when the snow machines came on. Eternal <<< HIGHLIGHT. 10/10... wish it was longer, but I realize live PAs are hard.

RJ: You are awesome to party with man, its always a pleasure, and thanks for the ride to Finch! Cya @ WEMF

I met a lot of people... but I won't remember any names... because I can't hear shit in there.

It was great seeing everyone there and having a good time. That was the best crowd I've ever seen at Viva. The whole front section of the club with arms in the air... OMG... guys, there are going to be some incredible videos and pictures from this night.

10/10

best party I've been to.

We love NuNRG!

1. Andrea lost his KAOSS pad!!! More specifically, after the intro, the KAOSS pad broke. They disconnected it from the loop and the show went on. WHAT A BUMMER. If you were at the Arc last year, you saw/heard Andrea, rub that pad in the right way. He's got the skillz on that toy! Ugh...maybe it allowed him to throw down more samples.

2. Three great moments of the night...

(1) Take Your Air - I wanted it at Arc, I got it at Viva. Nice surprise.
(2) Eternal - One of their greatest remixes. Gotta love how they take the eternal melody to the next level.
(3) Freefall - When those breaks dropped, my jaws dropped too.
(Connective was fun too. Andrea was dancing and waiving his arms all over and getting all in to Connective. Very fun to see.)

3. Arturo all over NuNRG. This time he wasn't roodie boy helping them with their tech problems, but I know he got great pics again. Please please please show us!

If you love NuNRG, do all you can to see them live when they come. Find my ass too...I'm the dude jumping around like crazy from start to finish.

Posted by arturob on Jul-04-2004 01:41:

oh shit. lol heh.. sorry :P

Posted by BinarY_EclipsE on Jul-04-2004 01:51:

???

Just curious....is the ID - Rapid Eye - Circa Forever (Nu NRG remix)
someone was saying that....didnt really know what the hell was going on so i have no idea

I didnt even know they did a remix...or am i on crack???

Posted by dubblies on Jul-04-2004 01:51:

Are you kidding me! With the abscence of the chaos pad and the pressure building up to the release of Free Fall! I would like to congradulate Nu-NRG and the entire Nu-NRG crew, including you Arturo. A year ago, I thought I would never get to see the duo in my lifetime. Now, I've seen them twice, more than those that introduced me to them. The show at the Arc was sweet, but this one was deffinitely a more advanced show. With that chaos pad in tact, I feel like there would be a lot more people glued to the floor. I saw more people just crowding and staring than dancing the entire hour the guys were playing.

A message to those that came for Rosati, I will be there at WEMF to see him play his set on the Main Stage! That set last night was incredible, especially given that it was supposed to be Oliver, and Rosati filled in at the last moment.

I've flown to NY & LA for shows before, but this was the longest road trip I've made for a show; well worth it! The next on the list would have been my first show (Paul Van Dyk @ the Factory in Coloumbus, OH). I'm sorry, but they will both be stuck in my mind for a very long time to come.

Last night was crazy, thats all I have left to say before I crash.

Highlights:

* Discovering Club Viva was located in a strip mall.
* Discovering the sound system, the lasers, and the locals!
* Dj Tiesto - Traffic (Montana Re-Edit)
* Agnelli & Nelson - Holding onto Nothing
* Dreamland 2004
Take Your Air - Live Edit
Free Fall
* All of the Canadian TAs!
We got a chance to hang out with a bunch of you, that was
a great night/day/2days! You are all very chill people.
Hell of a party!
* Going on 35 hours, bout to end!

I concur with everyone else; what a night Friday night!! In my opinion it was one of the best nights that Viva has ever seen... the turnout was excellent, club was full but there was room to dance if you were thrifty enough to look around for it... the vibe was great, I met some totally cool people, and the music of coarse was top notch!

Walter Rosati delivered once again; I've seen him a few times and I have to say he's one of my favorite djs in this city... track selection was brilliant, he had the club absolutely jumpin' for the start of Nu-NRG's set. A very eclectic style mixed together superbly.
Nu-NRG stepped up and delivered like we all knew they would; lots of familiar stuff and a few that I haven't heard before which is also great too! Brilliant melodies and rolling basslines, it was right up my alley! I'll be keeping a close eye for the release of their LP! Really nice guys too!!!

Just want to give a huge thanks for all the TA's that came out to see my set, you guys are all fantastic, I can't thank-you all enough for your support!! A very big thanks also to Ari for bringing me in... not only does he have the foresight to bring the talent in that fills the clubs but he's willing to give new locals the opportunity to play on these big stages; a true scene builder. Thanks so much buddy!

This night gets a 10/10...

See you all at WEMF!!!

Damn, I wish I could have made this, but I'm glad everyone who did seemed to have had a kick-ass time.

Posted by arecebo on Jul-04-2004 16:36:

Well, I have finally woken up.. 2 days later and not fully recovered. I dont think ive ever met so many tas in one night, and everyone was having a blast! Nu nrg was all I had hoped for (except those technical problems ) Dennis, great opening set, do you happen to have a tracklist? Little pissed that Mark didnt show up, but Rosati closed with quite an impressive set with a lot of anthems i never thought id hear (Mauro Picotto - Awesome!) and the highlight of his set id say was the J00f remix of Astral projection - mahadeva.. nice seeing tatgirl, diesel0, flec, RJ, 404science, danielle, amb_(thanks for letting us chill after the party), and finally meeting arturo. Now if only that set was recorded

I actually did find it a little quiet, but being my last track I didn't bother changing the levels. That track has such a prediminent bassline and hard beat that it can tend to overshadow the melody on the bigger systems.. that's John Askew for ya!

I unfortunately don't have a tracklist for my set Arecebo, but I put new sets on my set every month with tracklists... check it out, www.djdennishahn.com
Hope that helps!

WOW

Damn, im still in awe of that night...def top three nights ever (right up there with Ultra 5, and Zabiela) Nu NRG kicked my ass over and over again...I still cant believe I heard Nu Nrg play take your air live...
