No probs by me

Posted by djsphere on Jul-07-2004 09:11:

Ok, Final Scratch is allowed. It's a real time mixin' prog so it fits the rules. Major Johnson is on the competitors list.

Im Solid for being a judge, Beat, timing ang key matchings are what i look for myself whilst listening.

I'm a good critic and will spot loads, if it's there to spot lol.

Anyone that get's to mix in Jan Johnson/BT - Flesh 12" with the vocals will get a bonus Lolly pop lolol.

Good Luck Everyone, cannot wait to hear your work :0

Rick.

That's cheatin!!! Now you'll get like at least 5 ppl trying to mix that in, JUST to get a lollipop!! lol.

However, I have a history of dropping a few old schoolies in my competition mixes

Posted by mr2gti on Jul-08-2004 16:36:

lol, Lollypops all round I say lol.

It'll be good to hear some old school hammerers.

Just fiddling with Magix Music Studio 3 as we speak doing a mix for the car.

Nice to see some more trance DJ's from my country!!!

Posted by djsphere on Jul-09-2004 09:16:

I should tell you this before is too late. The mix needs to be exclusive for the competition. So don't share it until you get the results.

If I put it on my mix 5 times, do I get 5 lollypops....or am I being greedy?

I'm gonna have a crack at my mix this weekend...I've got some really good new stuff.

Sorry if i will offend anyone, but what about makeing some rules for who can be the judge, like, i don't really trust "tranceaddict in training" as a judge, he just might be a friend of some dj, that's all, peace.

on one hand i agree, but there are already stipulations on judge selections stated in the rules. on top of that, the last competition, only 2 judges handed in scores.. there were a lot of ties because of that. Often its difficult to get judges, and even more difficult to get them to take the time out of their busy schedules to listen to all the submitted mixes, score them according to the criteria, and submit that. If each set is 60-80 mins, and say 20 get submitted, that's anywhere from 20-27 hours straight of listening, and that's one time through only.

besides, it'd be noticeable if someone gave everyone medicore, average or ok scores, and gave one guy 25/25s across the board or 24/25s, when other judges rate it say 10/25. something questionable like that, i'm sure would be looked into and would have disqualifications or reprecussions of some sort.

besides, this competiton isn't based solely on scoring, i'm sure many competitors, judges and idle participants would agree, the point of this competition is in spirit, for fun. the scores are like icing, and scoring well is the cherry on top. =)

i know for me it gives me encouragement to keep pushing myself to do better as the last two compos my beatmatching and harmonics have licked and i haven't been able to crack the top 5 yet because of it. =D

Posted by Clyde77 on Jul-11-2004 04:32:

okay nevermind drop me off the list! sucks to be tranceaddict in training

Posted by Dave Piazza on Jul-11-2004 06:00:

Smiley DJ

add me as a competitor....this will be fun

Posted by Dave Piazza on Jul-11-2004 06:02:

Ill be using vinyl records is that ok??

Posted by DjCommisad on Jul-11-2004 06:21:

The contest rules say that this is non-vinyl competition.
There are two different competitons, one for vinyl djs, and one for mp3 djs. If you missed the vinyl competition closing date for djs, wait until the next one.

This is the mp3 only (rules bend so far as final scratch).

cheers =)

PCDJ Red is a nice bit of kit if yours works properly lol.

If you get the "cracked" version it tends to go haywire as a conciquence.

When is this thread going sticky?

Posted by djkoolaide on Jul-12-2004 05:29:

PCDJ Red has always worked great for me No problems at all. I guess it's a matter of getting used to the program. I've been using it for over three years and it's gotten to the point that I don't think I could use anything else. Learning the keyboard shortcuts is a must.

BTW, I'll compete Unless Tranceaddicts in training aren't allowed

Just click the profile button, and u'll see that Clyde77 is no tranceaddict in training (look at the number of posts, day of registration, refereals).
And u shouldn't judge people by their status. This is an amateur competition so i don't think anyone of the competitors would have friends sign up as judges just to win. Most people do this just for fun or to recive feedback about their sets.
