Brad Pitt is in my top 3 of all time favorite actors, but I don't know if it would be right...he is not British. He would be incredible for the role though. He is just an amazing actor and he would have a hell of a pull at the box ofice.

| Originally posted by Floorfiller i'll agree with that. brad pitt is probably my favorite male actor. i mean, everyone knows he's a good looking dude and all, but he really has done a terrific role in almost all of his movies. like you said...i don't think he could pull off james bond though... |

While I know that everyone says "he has to be British blah blah" one must remember that the first two Bonds were a Scotsman (Connery) and an Australian (Lazonby), the fourth was Welsh (Dalton) and the current Bond is an Irishman (Brosnan). So at this point only 1 of 5 (Moore) have actually been English (which I think most people consider as "British" even though you "could" say that Ireland and Scotland and Wales are all "British" because they are in the Isles).
It is hard to say who will be the next Bond. I figure it will be someone like Christian Bale (welsh) or Ewan McGregor (scottish). Though both are now in super hero esque roles with Bale being the new Batman and Ewan still having one more stint as Obi-Wan to go. Of course, someone closer to their 40s might be more the type they are looking for, but when Brosnan was being courted for the role in the early 80s, he was not any older than Ewan McGregor, Chrisitan Bale or Jude Law are now.

I would agree with Brat on this, i think Tom Cruise
would fit nice...or maybe Val Kilmer
...hmmmm

I know we're searching for British answers, but...what about George Clooney?
Jude Law
Damien Lewis
collin ferrel could pull it off if he could do a scottish/british accent
So far I agree with what Trancebrat has been saying, and if I had to choose anyone, I would probably have to go with who trancedental said...Clive Owen, hes got the looks, the edge, hes around the right age, he doesn't look out of place doing stunts, but I dunno about his acting skills, he does have a movie coming out soon, with him as the lead guy, it looks promising, but will have to see, other than that I would say Jude Law with afew more years on him, or umm ME, I'm British, I got the accent, just give me the girls the guns and a nice car and its all good.

Jennifer Lopez
I wouldn't choose Val Kilmer or George Clooney for the roles. Anyone remember how they fucked up the Batman movies? I'm not really knowledgeable of British actors, but Ewan might be a good choice. Key word: might.
IT CAN"T BE AN AMERICAN ACTOR!
All these people suggesting famous american actors are kidding themselves.
In order to portray the role accurately, and well, the person chosen as the next bond has to be ultra suave, handsome and have a GOOD british accent.
Therefore, i think that they need to be either English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish or possible Australian, as they could pull it off.
I think we need to take another direction with the james bond thing...
how about a red head...with a lot of freckles and no suaveness whatsoever- Carrot top!
thats where its at.
that or a member of the Jihad....
I was thinking Jude Law or mabye even Christian bale, if he is not to much into the Batman character.
i vote for
Hugh Jackman
Hugh Grant
&
Hugh Hefner
