I also don't think its going to be a short thing. The Afganis are super tough and they know how to fight. But I highly doubt that its going to be a ground war. Its all going to be in the air because the countries are so far apart. they are just going to be going back and forth in the air. I also heard about that lazer plane, very destructive.
hm but that would be bullshit. with an air strike the army only destroys the economie and innocent people. you must know, that this is a new kind of war, there arent any military basis or machines, you will have to fight against people, and that is not possible with air-strike. You have to go to the ground with special-groups AND the help of the opposition (like in afghanistan), because they know their country a lot better than the US.
The one thing i don't understand is why everybody is rushing to war:
from what i understood the operation worked likes this: Bin Laden supplied the money, the Jihad figured the strategy and the hizballuh supplied the sucide hijackers, i don't know if that's exaclt currect but it doesn't matter since any of those 3 organizations doesn't have a direct connection to any county's goverment, atleast not that we know of, and perhaps Bin Laden is hiding in afgan, but it doesn't mean that they want him there... he could go to any house and threat the people to hide him or he kills them... perhaps they do have something to do with him, but it's not confired, and you don't go to war on blind, you gotta be 100% sure that you are targeting the right people.
this war IS GONNA MAKE WW3. These are the reasons.
1. Eyqpt Declined the offer to bomb afganistan
2. Since all the Oil comes from Middle East. Theres gonna be a pressure from the US, of not fighting.
3. If Pakistan Fights against Afganistan, then its fucked for good. Afgainistan and many other muslim countries will attack them. Its like killing there own kind if pakistan helps the US. Its against there religon. Either whay its fucked for good! if they dont help the US, the US is gonna BOMB THE SHIT OF OF PAKISTAN. SO either way its fucked.
4. Nuclear bombs and Chemcial weapons are a real threat. I dont care how much the US got, but u never know that there might be a nuclear bomb in the US as we speak ready to launch.
5. I dont care how our military has or does. I dont think they could handle the afgainistan terriost or there military. There military is trained well. So its going to be really hard!
***6. Even if we go to war, Just imagine how many people are going to die and just guess whats gonna happen to the US. If we gonna kill some ones family, and lets say there son is the only person alive. That ****** is gonna be pissed at the US. and going to Kill Everyone in the US. or cause damage to it. Cause hes going to seek for a revenge. So i think we shouldnt do this shit cause it happenes every fucking day in the middle east.
those are my reasons, and hopefully Bush wont be an idoit go to war. Cause i am not ready to fight for no one. I dont give a fuck.

^LMAO! I have to say, that was one of the funniest things I've read all day!
These Middle East countries claimed only to fight against terrorism (a problem in their countries as well), BUT if the US make a stupid war against a country (like bombing the country back to 0), which will not kill the terrorist but many innocent people, these governments will turn the back against the US.
And one more thing: Pakistan for example. The government is willing to help the US, but many people in this country are NOT, and they have terrorist group as well!
It will be a terrible war...
But its also clear that you have to do something. You cant say: "oh that was a sad thing you did, but we will not punish you..." thats shit! You have to punish them (but wisely) but you also have to find out the REAL reasons why this happened.

dont think so. bush has declared that he plans to have a fight against the international terrorism, and bin laden is not THE terrorism, he is just one important figure.

I dont think afghanistan is terrorism(perhaps the inofficial gov. is).
But Bush said that he will punish those behind the attacks AND those who protect them... and there are several terrorist camps in afghanistan, and bin laden couldnt do all by himself.
does anyone have any in-depth articles on how USA handles justice to non-US citizens?
