I like to consider myself to be a hip-hop fan (well rap anyway)

Listening to people praise Outkast is like hearing people say Dj Sammy is awesome

YES you are right, that is a big issue on many people's minds. However I did not mention that because it is so ubiquitous. Ahhh yes... why do we fight about music when there are such things going on in the world.

And tying this back into Outkast, they're political too and speak loudly about social activism (i.e. Rosa Parks):

Dude... "ATLiens" and "Southernplaylisticadillacmuzik" are two of the best hip-hop albums ever... classics.

The new stuff is poppier but it's still quality hip-hop.

They're riding the main stream train for all they've got, catchy music for simple people, good for them

Funny, that's the exact same thing most people in EDM say about trance.

You know what? I like entertainment that hooks me in but has so many deeper levels.

There's this little band, they are a fine example of this... I forget their name ATM, but it's something like "The Beetles"?!?

Outkast used to be really good in their early days. That was when Andre used to actually rap. Their first 2 albums were phenomenal. They have won quite a few Grammy awards with their latest double cd, however, its a more pop attempt from them. However, Andre is a pretty decent producer. Their tracks are decently produced, and they have a unique style.

Posted by Cal on Jul-14-2004 17:34:

Andre 3000 is a pioneer in my book, hes making music that noone has made before. Hey ya, what is that? its not rap its not hip hop its something new, same with that roses song. His style is breaking new gounds, and it sounds good too, so good for him. And Big Boi is your generic rapper, who isn't as popular as Andre.

Little known fact for you - Andre has his own line of dildoes.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jul-14-2004 17:41:

outkast sure put out a lot of catchy ass songs hehehe....

plus they are cool because they went to CU biatches

Does anyone else hate this fags as much as I do?

Don't judge them based on 2 songs fag.

They are one of the greatest hip hop duos ever. They started off in a studio in their dirty basement full of rats. They worked their ass off everyday just to get their first record successful. They even slept on the floor for the sake of it. They also had a horrible life outside of the studio and yet, they managed to make like 5 albums untill now. Again, they're one of the greatest hip hop duos ever, one of the greatest in hip hop in general.

It's not a lie. It's a fact, foo. By the way, since when was MTV involved in this?

"The Love Below" was the most original production released last year in the U.S.

Posted by Torley Wong on Aug-15-2004 21:27:

ANDRE 3000 is the world's best-dressed man, Esquire magazine says.

I like Outkast. And this coming from a person who usually doesn't care for hip-hop - at all.

I give them props for trying new stuff and looking very diff (Andre 3000). Not your everyday overproduced hip hop production you hear on the radio nowadays, trying to churn out another tune just to cash in. Their latest album is pretty eclectic.

Posted by meLon on Aug-16-2004 06:15:

lol

This is funny. I bet they'd think the way you dress is funny too. Get over it, unless they start doing something worth bithing about.

Yeah, i don't particularly like outkast, but oh well

:P

Who got a huge suprise when they played the new Outkast album for the first time?
