Yeah! Right on... BOO on the technosnobs!
Hypocrites who use forward-moving technology to make music yet constrain and limit not only themselves -- but try to call down the music of others, in what should be a diverse musical ecosystem consisting of a variety of people from many backgrounds and cultures -- bring shame to us all. They have dishonored us, and are not fit to call themselves "progressive"! Perhaps "regressive" would be a better term for these shovah! *waves samurai sword around* LOL
Clovis86 put it on the dot. If I like it, I like it.
Oh yeah, for anyone who didn't know -- because I didn't and had to learn the hard way -- James's actual remix isn't the one that cops Giorgio Moroder (think disco). As a certain Romulan said from DS9, "It's a faaaaaake!" (and not a Nathan kind of Fake either, although a Nathan Fake Fake might be a charming knickknack
)

If you like it then listen to it if you don't like it then don't listen to it. its that simple.

ditto dude!
holden will always be holden and nothing will ever change it..
if he went out and started to run around with his wanker flapping all around, we wouldn't care because holden is holden...
however, with holden mixing britney's song, does it change any facts how we feel about britney? none whatsoever... we will always think of britney as the trashy southern boyfriend-stealing gal who probably has .1% of singing talent, compared to the awesome chicks that are singing at the moment (like dido, mclachlan, nora jones, celine dion (well not now, but a year ago), etc...)
all jimmie wants to do is create something to get us on the dance floor like he has always did in the past.. and he has continued that success by remixing this song and make the mix something to talk about..
how come no one is talking about the gabriel and dresden remix of the "nip/tuck" soundtrack?? well, it is not really much worth talking about at the moment.. that's why ...

maybe it might be for the better ... avril turns away from the pop punk genre and turns techno-esque ... hmmm.. does she have the look of a EDM singer? .. i don't think right now, but probably the Queer Guys can straighten her out in that category ..
but i don't know .. is it right to piss on artists who join the same record labels as our fav EDM artists?? ..
oh well, i guess it's just our expression of speech...
who heard avril's latest single, anyways?.. that is horrible.. she is basically screeching it out...

Big Avril Lavigne fan here!! She looks like a cat and sings like one too. Meow!
Hey, if Jewel can go from folk troubador to techno-esque diva, which she did, there are no limits...
P.S. Nettwerk is owned by Delerium!?? Never heard that, I know they're on that label, but...

I usually don't like remixing shit like that, but hey, it's Holden, he can do whatever he wants, he can shit in a box and I would go buy it at the Virgin Megastore

You can't compare Britney Spears' lyrics and songs with Sarah McLachlan. Sarah McLachlan's songs hold depth, and genuine emotion. Spears sings about boys, and banging them. I mean, can you really group these two together?

Agreed.

Me wants to hear this..

Quoted from Holden's site:
"Wednesday, July 21
the britney mixes i did recently.. it turns out 'breathe on me' isnt going to be a single ever, so they'll never be on vinyl. so:
breathe on me holden dub
breathe on me holden vocal
they're high bitrate mp3s from the original digital masters. i'll take them down once my bandwidth gets used up. i hope you enjoy them, it'd be a shame if noone ever got to hear them so this is the best i can do."
Get them while you still can: http://www.jamesholden.org.uk/diary.htm

Thanks for posting that, GrimReaper.
How gracious of James to adapt when plans change, and moreso, to share this with us.
Downloading now.

dam you :P you beat me to it
To all you saying bla bla bla remixed britney, it must be crap
pff suck it up, if no-one ever mentioned that it was a remix of britney, and you heard the tune, would you like it? hell yes, only reason youve got against it is because of the name...
havent heard breath on me, but everytime is amazing, i never would have guessed it was a remix of britney...there are actually some good parts in pop/rock/rnb, so why cant EDM exploit that? use it to our advantage? *points at remixes of coldplay, radiohead etc* people probably made the same crap comments about those remixes, but they are now classics...
bhah
