ok here's the "complete" breakdown on what i think will give you a good time, and save you some money..
1) getting to the airport you'll see your travel group.. they'll come over & grab your suitcases for you (which you may not like) and put them on the bus.. tip here is make sure you tip them 1 or 2$... that way you are sure your luggage ends up at the hotel and not in the ocean! 
since your hotel has a minibar (and they restock it whenever you want for free) you'll have no need to do any booze shopping.. If you want to bring alcohohl back with you, i'd suggest not going to the duty free shops, but head over to the walmart (which is HUGE) and buying some booze there to bring back... i bought a big 2L bottle of tequila for 7$ i think, and a bottle of Vodka for 8$... almost half the price at the duty free... a 6 pack of corona was 1.25$ there i believe...
now for the partying..
i'm assuming you're going on sunday night, since sunday's tend to be the cheapest day for travelling.. if all still the same...
Sunday - Senor frogs... a good fun time.. your typical bar.. it's something you'd see straight out of american unviersity schools.. mostly hip hop & top 40... lotsa ladies..
Monday - Daddyo's... alot of tribal house and very minimal hip hop.. my friend's hated it for this fact...
Tuesday - Coco bongos.. you must go to this! it's more of an entertainment center with shows but something you definately don't want to miss!
Wednesday - Mr. Muscle competition at La Boom.. you might think it's kinda gay going to check out mr. muscle.. but the 1000's of ladies that go don't LOL!
Thursday - Miss Bikini @ La boom and/or Daddy Rock... this might have changedw ith the new club city, but we used to hit up la boom on back to back nights, simply because we knew what we were expecting (good mix of music & a great crowd)
Friday = Daddyo's again.. lots of trance music there that night.. alot more locals...
Saturdays = Daddy Rock, Bulldog, local bars... saturday's is kind of a throw up, since most places have alot of locals you can go anywhere... bulldog is a great time.. lots of locals and they play 90% rock music with a live band.. it's a very fun time! we also spent alot of time just going to random local bars which was also a good time..
Prices should be between 25-30$ at the club for all you can drink... we usually get all you can drink 3-4 times and then stick to the 10$ cover & getting smashed before we go.. at bulldog we'd just pay the 7$ cover, and buy a table & a bottle of something (which is about 50$, and then 20$ for an additional bottle of booze) which would be cheaper for the 10 of us...
Don't forget tipping.. it seems like all they want here is a fucking tip every 2 seconds... one guy i'd be sure to tip is the washroom guy at least a buck.. he'll be the guy to save you if you ever get into a scrap with a bouncer or club owner....
Finally enjoy yourself... do what you want, where you want, wheneve ryou want.. just don't piss on the side of the road or you'll be forced to pay the cops off 
Cancun is great & i'm sure you'll have a great time... if you're looking to get laid make sure you use your mouth.. that's pretty much all you need to do.. is talk to them...
And if you want to do any shopping ask your hotel director about the good market.. i forget the name of it but i think you take the 3R bus downtown that takes you to a market about 30 minutes away from Oasis Cancun.. it's got alot more stuff and alot more deals.. just make sure you bargain with them on EVERYTHING... they wanted 40$ for a picture frame which i ended up paying 6$ for.. lol
And finally please hit me back on MSN if you've got it @ [email protected] .... I'm planning on heading back in october or november & really wanted to stay at your hotel... I'm wondering about reviews - mainly of how nice the beach was, how many chicks were there (lol) and how close it is to the main beach strip

thank you so much BigTounge!!! that was very helpful, and i can't wait to go even more now (you didn't have any problems with bouncers or clubowners though did you??? how would you start problems with them? Daddy O's on a friday is where i'll be at 
...and everything thing else looks great, cause when the atmosphere is amazing, i won't mind almost any type of music...and make my girlfriend happy to not only going to trancey EDM clubs...
I haven't had many problems because i think i tipped every employee there! LOL
one buddy was chased around by bouncers tryign to kill him because he hit on some bouncers girlfriend..
a friend of mine got his ass kicked & eye is pretty fucked up still because he was jumped by some bouncers over a fight with his video camera..
and one night during the mr. muscle i had a front row view to some juicebag get his ass kicked & thrown out the back (and continued to be beaten) by like 40 bouncers because he was sticking his dick on one of the judges..
