Thumbs down

Intruder might be banging but I find this kind of stuff very monotonous and uninspiring... anyway, disappointing stuff even though I wasn't expecting that much from this combination.

Electric Movement is just as sad as Rank 1. They literally can't make a tech-trance song. 0.1/10 for both.

Pound sounds like a remix of AVB - Astronauts

ASOT 150 - 2nd hour - last track is intruder - it's quite boring IMO - but i can see how in the club ppl would go off - its got the classic build-up etc.

Eh? Mike is just hopeless. His music under the M.I.K.E alias is uninspiring. Why does put those periods? Just further proves that his songs under M.I.K.E are uninspiring. He should rely on his Push alias. That is his only good alias.

Sunrise At Palamos OMG OMG OMG I LIVE!

Intruder is full of energy indeed but this isn't the kind of trance that i prefer. It's too bad seeing such a tune full of energy getting so repetitive.A few melodies wouldn't mind anyone.

push is one of his worst alias (yes i'm serious - at least from "strange world" it all went very downhill)

and the fact that he has those dots on m.i.k.e. which are cheesy as fuck doesn't interfere with his music

Posted by Subtle on Jul-19-2004 22:02:

I bet everybody that are flaming "Intruder" like cheesy music..

I think Intruder is a freeking great production, MASSIVE!!!

it is not repetetive, and u have probably never heard the word "rhythm"

Posted by nettwerk on Jul-19-2004 22:44:

Intruder kinda reminds me of Obsession (Frank Biazzi Mix). Pound is average IMO.
Could be better.

Posted by Luke Terry on Jul-19-2004 23:10:

Cool

i like pound, i think intruder will grow on me tho

M.I.K.E. is such a gangster! NO one can fuck with him! Very amazing release, indeed! 9.5/10.

could be termed intruder (m.i.k.e mix)
pound (avb mix) in that case.
listening to intruder again, absolutely wikked
about to delete pound from hd hrhr x)...

Posted by TigerClaw on Jul-20-2004 03:07:

Intruder is pretty awesome, Tech-Trance at its best.

Posted by Cobalt on Jul-20-2004 03:53:

Is Armin using his "Armin" alias here, not "Armin van Buuren?" That would make sense, I guess.

Intruder: Excellent. I could go for a driving, consistent 4/4 rather than this punchy, hopping bassline, but the change is refreshing. It's a great cut.

Pound: Oh, it was going so, so good until about halfway. Then that twinkly melody came in. Still rather good, but could have been better.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jul-20-2004 04:18:

i'm sure intruder is really good in a club...

Original Uplifting trance and original hard trance are terrible? Yeah, I'm sure tech-trance is better, especially the tech-trance songs in 2004.

I think most people aren't used to hearing an emphasis on rhythm over melody when it comes to trance, which is probably why it's getting such mixed reviews.

That's a good point. I happen to enjoy the more techy stuff that Armin has been playing on ASOT, like the Remy and Roland Klinkenberg tracks. It's a nice break from all of the "epic" kind of trance that is starting to sound all too similar to me.
